Emily Chen on Instagram: "Here’s how I brought my client from a very dark, solid, permanent color base, to what *appears* to be a “level 6” demi that’s soft, translucent & dimensional. 

Here’s what I mean by that - She’s a level 4, and her babylights are a level 8. The finely woven babylights are NOT there to add contrast (that’s the job of the teasylights), but they’re there to change the BACKGROUND. Her babylights are so fine that they DON’T add much contrast. Instead, they end up blending & mixing in with the background creating an overall appearance of a lighter level 6 background (level 4 base + level 8 babylights = level 6-ish “background” when blended together). 

Okay now that we have that out of the way, let me explain this process.
