The Great Basin Desert is a stunning landscape to hike and camp. It is filled with isolated mountain ranges and forests, & wild horses (or mustangs).

The Mojave Desert has some great places to photograph especially where it meets the Great Basin Desert. The place is so vast and the space just seems to go on for miles and miles. At times the weather is so changeable you can just wait for the unpected to happen. I was watching the clouds change earlier in the day as this cloud just grew larger and larger. The scenic Bighorn Basin and world-class fishing opportunities on the Bighorn River have made Big Horn County, Wyo., a tourist destination, but the area is also rich in oil and natural gas—and history. People have lived in the area since ancient times, as evidenced by the Medicine Wheel near the county’s northern corer. Ranch families still raise cattle and sheep, and farm families still raise sugar beets as they have for more than a century.

Where can you find the desert in the United States? There are four main US deserts: the Mojave, Sonoran, Chihuahan and Great Basin deserts.
