CoolAnt on Instagram: "A modular facade created with the help of our pots, in a waiting room for an office space in New Delhi, with a floor area of approx. 200 sq. ft. The system is capable of cooling down the entire space, using natural means, such as evaporative cooling. This will also have provisions to control the ventilation for the room. The facade is a composite of glass openable windows, and CoolAnt pots, along with a sensor-based water system, all integrated together by design. Inspired by traditional inventions, the project explores the potential of clay for evaporative cooling. Urban Coolspot is a modular structure that saves water from drainage channels. Absorbed by the porous ceramic it's distributed by capillary attraction. On hot summer days, the gradual evaporation cools the warm ambient air and the wind carries it across the heated urban landscape. It is an adaptive solution for a sealed environment. It doesn't require costly reconstruction or energy supply. Urban Coolspot was created by the young designer Julia Sulikowska from the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee, Germany. Passive Down Draft Evaporative Cooling - Free download as PDF File (.pdf), Text File (.txt) or read online for free. The document discusses passive down draft evaporative cooling systems. It describes how evaporative cooling towers work by guiding air over water-filled porous pots, inducing evaporation and lowering the air temperature. The cooling tower uses vertical air flows, with cooled, denser air sinking and drawing in warmer ambient air. Introducing water spray at the top of the tower…

Working on a principle that's about as old as mankind itself, the Nave Air Conditioning System uses terracotta's evaporative cooling abilities to naturally regulate temperatures without requiring any electricity or complex electronics. It's fairly sustainable, and has zero emissions, offering a nifty low-tech way to keep spaces cool in the summers.
