An efficient iterative technique based on the wave concept (WCIP) for designing multilayer planar... more An efficient iterative technique based on the wave concept (WCIP) for designing multilayer planar circuits is presented. The algorithm is based on the use of a recursive relationship between incident waves and reflected waves from several planes of discontinuity, instead of an integral equation. The convergence is insured independently of the kind or number of interfaces of the structure. The method herein presented solves for the current density and the tangential electrical field on the interface. The formulation permits to solve several problems by applying dual quantities. A two-dimensional fast modal transformation (FMT) algorithm using periodic walls is used with a 2D-FFT algorithm, in order to simplify calculations and accelerate the convergence. In this sense, a program in MATLAB has been elaborated to validate this approach. The numerical results are compared with those in the available literature.

In this article it is presented an analytical method to model a source with circular polarization... more In this article it is presented an analytical method to model a source with circular polarization and the space distribution of the incident and reflected waves through a fine dielectric layer. The model is based on the wave concept. Mathematical expressions for the transmitted and reflected waves are formulated in the frequency domain. An inverse Fourier modal transform is applied to the waves in spectral domain to obtain the waves in space domain. The 3-D behaviors of the waves on the surface of the layer are presented.

São descritos algoritmos para roteamento e alocação de comprimentos onda, que têm como finalidade minimizar a aplicação de recursos de transmissão. Para o problema de roteamento e alocação de espectro descrevese um algoritmo heurístico para a determinação das soluçõeś otimas para as solicitações de serviço. This paper presents an algorithm to evaluate the performance of the Universal Mobile Telecommunic... more This paper presents an algorithm to evaluate the performance of the Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS), which will soon be deployed in Brazil. The proposed UMTS physical layer simulation system is described. The block diagram for the simulator architecture is presented. A functional description for some of the blocks is included and some results are presented.
