
Renato Amado
Renato Amado is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies, Brown University. He currently researches the conservative culture war in Brazil, with an emphasis on the production of their literary and comic books. Previous researches include the novel Macunaíma, by Mario de Andrade, the mythological figure of the trickster, and women´s representation in Luso-African novels. Renato also has a history as a writer and a cultural producer. He published a novel and several short stories and produced exhibitions, film festivals, artistic soirees, and a short film.
