The plant was closed in 1985 and demolished in 2008. The company dismantled the 25ton water with hopes of placing at one of their other plants, but so far the parts are still in storage. Seventy-five years after it was hoisted atop the Newark, NJ, brewery as a symbol of what was made inside, the 60-foot high beer bottle is gone from the skyline. So for now the Newark icon lives only in memory. The water tower was built in 1910 by the Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. In 1911 the C.W. Parker Amusement Company was launched in Waterloo, and the water tower paint scheme reflects that ownership. Waterloo is also home of Trek Bicycle Corporation, Van Holten Pickles, and (formerly home of) Perry Printing, all these companies are represented on the water tower. (Perry Printing changed hands several times and is now closed but remains a part of Waterloo's heritage.) 43°10'49.8"N 88°59'31.6"W Trek Bicycle, Water Towers, Fire Protection, Water Tower, Paint Schemes, Land Art, Mural Art, Types Of Art, Water Tank
