Kim Jenkins | Echolalia and Gestalt Language Processing SLP on Instagram: "I had an Autistic client who became dysregulated in our session today. An amazing occupational therapist told me about this toy! @courtneyenglish.ot

✅ I had the child help me put these up on the window.

✅ This used proprioceptive input, which can be regulating!

✅ Then we took them all down.

✅ Just this ONE task helped him to be more focused and regulated.

✅ Every child is different, so it may not work for your child, but many kids love this toy.

✅ Comment TOY for a link! 🔗

More Than A Gym on Instagram: "Steamroller: Providing proprioceptive input with a therapy ball rolled over body to organize the nervous system!

Have your child lay down in a comfortable position and roll the therapy ball up and down their body applying firm pressure. Proprioceptive input is one of our hidden senses (we have 8 senses total). This system provides a sense of body awareness by sending messages to receptors in our muscles and joints. They tell our bodies what each body part is doing, where our bodies are in space, and how it is moving. Providing this input helps organize the nervous system which can aid in calming children who are overstimulated or increase alertness to aid in attention.

**Check in with your child to see if they want more or less pressure **
