Running from late December to late February, the festival features two main exhibition areas. One highlight is the Ice and Snow World, which opens in the afternoon and evening. This section showcases life-sized buildings crafted from 2-3 foot thick ice blocks sourced from the Songhua River, all spectacularly illuminated. First introduced in 1999 to celebrate the new millennium, the park varies in theme each year and requires a complete rebuild.
