The most basic form of feminine dress in Ancient Greece was the Chiton. There were two forms of Chitons, the Doric and the Ionic. Again, the Doric is on the left and the Ionic is on the left.   Distinguishing features of these were that the Doric Chiton would be Pinned over the shoulder and have a folded over piece. The Ionic Chiton would be sewn around the shoulders forming a primitive sleeve.
