Pune, is a small town 17 KMs to the North East on the Pune – Ahmednagar high way. Today the town is famous for the Wagheshwar temple and some amusement park in the vicinity. The campus memorial temple of Mr. Jadhav also houses some memorial stones and the cremation ground of the town. One of the memorial stones has an inscription written in the Modi script. The paper tries to interpret it and understand its implications.

... more An incomplete copperplate of an unknown ruler has come to light from Nashik district. It records
the donation of a house in Charegaon at the time of the performance of the funerary rites. It also records
that the donation was given to a Karahataka Brahmapa. The palaeography suggests that this copperplate
can be dated to c. fifth-sixth century ad, which makes it one of the very early copperplates in Maharashtra.

This is a small village with remains of a couple of Jaina temples scattered in the village. Numerous images of the Jaina Teerthankaras and other deities are lying at places in the village. There are remains of a Shaiva temple also in this village.
The town of Peth in Nashik District is an important town in the Northern part of Nashik district. Peth has been a trade centre for a long time. There are remains of a Sangameshwar Mahadeo temple in the town of Peth. The remains have now been incorporated in an Ashram of a modern times. The remains of this temple in the form of the door frames, sculptures are lying in the campus of this Ashram along with some hero stones.
This paper aims to document these remains of the temples at Thanpada and Peth in Nashik district.

There are 24 caves with 27 inscriptions at this site. The excavation at this site started in c. 1st century B.C. and continued till 6th century A.D. Many alterations were made in various caves during this period. The paper aims to highlight these changes by showing the remains of the two stupas that are lost today.

unpublished temple. Numerous archaeological remains are scattered in this village, other than this temple.
Some of them are lying in the campus of this temple like the hero stones and a dilapidated step well. The
shafts of the remaining pillars near the Nandimandapa have preserved beautiful sculptures. These antiquarian
remains in this village have not been documented as yet. Stylistically the temple can be dated to around thirteenth century ce.
