(1/6) One of the reasons why I have such contempt for the phrase "respect the office of the President" is that, in practice, it means just do everything they want you to do no matter how you feel. SO when the President invites you for a visit, people assume respecting... (2/6) the office means going even if you don't want to go or don't like the person. That, my friends and enemies, is ridiculous. It's a comical standard. So when someone says "no, I'm good", stuffy folks lose it as the individual doesn't respect the office. Huh?!

Just finished reading this ex-Green Beret Nate Boyer's open letter to Trump, Kaepernick, and America on @ESPN( espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…) and I've really fed up with this notion that Kaepernick and Trump should just talk it out and we just need love to guide our way (1/n) Kaepernick has been clear from the beginning why he sat then knelt during the national anthem. It was about raising attention to police brutality, specifically, and the inequitable treatment of Black people (and people of color) generally. That's it, thats the list. (2/n).

I've got a little bit of a rant about baseball stadiums and food to go on. I was at Guaranteed Rate Field to watch the Chicago White Sox and was fortunate enough to be sitting in the 100 level (lower tier). The amount of food options down there are wonderful: pizza, tacos (1/n) hot dogs, along with other "nicer" options for the people in this level. Great. I've also been in the upper deck 500 level and noticed that the food options are LIMITED! (2/n)
