Fight like it is about your life! It is - and ist is about the whole world! And be prepared for the worst case. @ida_skibenes One reason for the end of the Republik of Weimar was that the SPD (at this time the only party supporting the Republik wholeheartly) and all the other people convinced in Democracy thought it would be enough to be on the side of the law and constitution. You all know the result.

Aufgrund des blamablen Verhalten des Bürgermeisters konnten in ME letzte Woche 60 Neonazis in ME demonstrieren, ohne dass vorher eine Gegendemo organisiert werden konnte. Es gab allerdings spontanen Protest der Bürgerinnen und Bürger, die entsetzt über den Aufmarsch waren. Gestern gab es als Reaktion darauf eine Gegenveranstaltung mit Demonstrationszug und Aktionsmeile mit dem Motto "Mettmann ist bunt!" Daran haben - je nach Lesart 1500 - 3000 Mettmanner Bürgerinnen und Bürger teilgenommen.

Der Bürgermeister hat sich maximal blamiert und wird dafür auch - zu Recht - massiv kritisiert. Die Reaktion der Parteien und der Bürger ist allerdings gut.

Auch wenn der Bürgermeister durch sein Schweigen vorab eine Gegendemo verhindert hat, haben doch Mettmanner Bürger und Anwohner sofort reagiert, als sie mitbekamen, wer da in Mettmann aufmarschiert ist und sich klar dagegen positioniert.
