My shrinking tee obsession
My husband travels frequently for work, and has quite a collection of vintage tees from LA, Tokyo, London, New York, Berlin, Milan - the list goes on. Heres some more I'd like him to get - (so I can shrink them down to my size in the dryer. )

Seventies Summer Sirens
I often wonder what it would have been like if I was born in the 50’s and was in my 20’s in the seventies. The fashion was insane, the parties were even better. Here’s some images from the amazing Mirage magazine that pretty much sum up a seventies summer fantasy...

CURRENT - ly in LOVE!
Current Elliot is a new denim label out of the states that has a really fresh take on the whole sixties, wannabe Kate Moss styling that is around everywhere. The highwaisted Horsehsoe jeans look divine and the boyfriend jeans are super sexy. I love the whole look. I just spent my weekly splurge on a new pair of Sass & Bide Black Rats so I might have to wait a while to get my hands on something from this amazing collection!
By the way - does anyone know where I can get those boots?!?

Black Rebel Motorcycle Boots
My Husband and I bought our house about 8months ago and we are still decorating it slowly with crazy bits and pieces that we pick up at markets, art from friends, instruments, surfboards and bits of Haydn's 1964, Ford that he is building pretty mutch from scratch. We have decided to do a mirror wall, full of retro mirrors that will cover one full wall in the guest bedroom or study. So here are some shots of my old motorcycle boots that I got about a year ago from American Rag in Melbourne, taken in a couple of mirrors we have scrounged together so far.

Electric Lady Land
I have always had a thing against wearing animal print clothing - I've seen too many crusty old ladies whilst I was growing up on the Gold Coast, who strutted their stuff wearing full on leopard print. They always had heaps of gold jewellry dripping off their ears, necks and wrists and hot pink lipstick smeared across their trout pouts, as well as the obligatory peroxide hair and orange fantasy tan. Niii-ce!
So, when I first saw this leopard print top, in the raddest vintage store I was a little hesitant. I felt a bit hipocrytical because I actually really really liked it - lots. It reminded me of the 1950's rockabilly chick who was all about Betty Page, Hot Rods, Ed Roth, Polka dots and platforms. So I bought it and here it is. I think it will be alright as long as I don't get any fantasy tans!

Pretty as a Peacock
The fashion world is being invaded with Peacock feathers in all of their glory at the moment. It got me thinking about this clutch my mum had when I was younger. Its handmade and leather with glued down peacock feathers. I begged her for it, unfortunately however, she is determined to keep it. I am on a mission to make one - I will keep you posted - I dont think it will be too hard? Maybe?

Raider Of My Mum's Wardrobe
One of my major pet hates is looking through old photo albums of my mother's and checking out all of these rad outfits shes worn 'back in the day' that I desperately hope that she has kept and magically stuffed waaaay up the back of her cupboard. Most of the time my chances are pretty slim, however some of my favourite clothes have been snavelled from her treasure chest of a closet. After seeing the latest Just Cavalli Campaign and the tidal wave of Tie Dye that is taking over the fashion world again, I happened to remember this silk tye dyed mu-mu (is that how you spell the homer simpson esque dress) that my mum once had. Luckily she had kept it!!!!!!
I spent one long night cutting, strapping and stitching and voila! Here it is in all of it's hacked to death glory. Nothing better than bring back something with family history and revitalising it all over again.

Black Rebel Motorcycle skirt
My mum, "Racy Tracy" as she sometimes gets called, always had this hot as hell, black high waisted leather skirt hanging in her closet. I used to look at it when I was like 13 hanging in her otherwise "mumsy" closet - totally fascinated by the fukn 'tude of this skirt. It typified sexy, rebellious rock chick and as soon as I was old enough, I started wearing it with a black singlet, chunky gold chains (or my silver cross) and killer heels. I love the way It totally hugs in all the right places and even if I am having a fat day, its so tight that it just sucks my guts in just right ;)

Asia Tee
Roger Dean is one of my husband's fav artists - this dude is amazing - I totally recommend checking out hs work because I have no doubt that it will BLOW YOUR MIND! This is one of my most adored tees which has his art on it. It has been worn so much that the cotton is wearing super thin and the print is almost indistingushable - you know that 6month period that a tee has where it is just perfect. It looks totally worn in, the print looks beaten up, its faded just right, the fit is a little baggy and sits soft on the body. This is where this tee is at for me right now - but it is coming close to the END. It is almost to the point where I will only be able to rock it every now and then cos it is not going to survive many more outings!

The "First Night" Dress
I couple of weekends ago I went to one of my favourite markets in Gtown (Geelong) - I mainly love going to people watch. Mullets, front bums, women wearing scrunched socks and tights - (which ironically is probably going to be back on the catwalks - ewww) and there is always some major cameltoe getting around. Its always a good morning out! Anyway, I was trawling through a rack of this old ladies clothes when I found this totally rad nighty. I got it for $5 and it was amazingly intricate in the most vibrant red colour. The thing is, as I was looking at it, imagining all of the things I could do to massacre this frilly nighty the old woman gave me the history on my purchase. It is a Lebanese "First Night Dress". I'll let you imagine that one. But needeless to say I gave it a damn good washing before I could start redesigning it!
So heres a photo of it after I had attacked it with my sewing machine to wear out. I will try to track down my before shots.

Vintage Rock and Roll
I have an ever growing collection of black bags. They are usually put to good use for 1 or two months before filling up with crap and spending the rest of their time dangling from every door knob in our place. My last purchase was a vintage quilted leather style with an extra long chain strap. Basically a total Chanel rip off - but not. It has the hottest gold and black tassel and its the best size too - not too big and not too small!
I thought it fitting to take my first personal style shots using the guitars, amps and leads that take up much of our house. As this bag is a bit rock and roll I think it fits in pretty well!
