Here's the run down...
We'll start with yesterday afternoon's Zoom call with Knittingsuek. It worked out that she was available when I got home from work:
Before moving to the events of this week...
SUNDAY - The day began with my Weekly Morning Art Zoom. I added the final image to my collage from Treasure Trovember:
MONDAY - Work
After work, I checked in with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color to see if she was up to meeting for our Weekly Zoom call. It turned out to be a good time for us both:
TUESDAY - Work
Here's the first page in my Care December altered book/accordion journal:
WEDNESDAY - Day Off!!
After dinner, I went up to the studio to work on the day's entry for my Care December journal challenge. I'm having fun playing with a variety of art supplies:
THURSDAY - Throwback Thursday
Work
I looked out the front window just in time to catch this glorious sunrise:
FRIDAY - Knit Group
It was BRR! cold outside, but these knitters gathered:
During the afternoon hours, I added layer after layer of paint to this journal page for Care December. It was inspired by the latest video from Brooke Henry. Later, I added a word to the page, but didn't get a chance to take another photo:
Once dinner was done, I enjoyed spending time with Get Messy friends during my Weekly Evening Zoom. I worked on adding gesso to the last few pages of my new altered book journal:
SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge! I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week.
Was there any sewing this week, Joyful???
Well... I had intended to get out my RAINBOW Quilted Scrap Basket, but I spent the majority of the day in bed, after spending the majority of the night in the ER:
Now, I'm going to be limited on the handwork that I can do in the next 6 - 8 weeks, as I fractured a finger... On my dominant hand. It's the FIRST bone ever broken in body! The fall on our tile floor also resulted in a number of cuts and bruises, as well as a huge "goose egg" on my forehead. With the extent of the damage, I have to say that I feel extremely fortunate to have escaped a broken nose or a knocked out tooth!
I managed a shot phone call with Knittingsuek, but no Zoom call today. All my energy was spent during the Get Messy Opening of the Season of Possibility right after lunch. I stamped out a title on my page, along with a few short notes and then I was ready for a nap.
Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!
Oh my goodness Joy. I'm so sorry that you have a broken finger and are banged up. I hope you've gotten lots of rest today and feel somewhat better tomorrow. Take care!
ReplyDeleteOh no, Joy - I'm so sorry to hear you fell and got hurt! I hope your finger heals quickly and you're back to normal soon. Sewing can wait, but hopefully you can still do some paper and paint crafting.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your fall! Rest and heal fast!
ReplyDeleteOuch! That must have been scary. Wishing you a rapid and complete recovery.
ReplyDeleteFalling is the biggest hazard to aging. Take it from a specialist!
ReplyDeleteOh, so glad it wasn’t worse! Tile is not at all forgiving :( I’m guessing you will feel sore all over for a few days….so sorry!
ReplyDeleteOMG, Joy! So sorry about your fall. So glad it wasn't worse. Do take care and rest. (((Hugs))) Your journal looks great!
ReplyDeleteoh no! I am so sorry to hear this. I hope you are feeling better today and the bruising is not too bad.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your finger! I broke my finger once while I was cleaning out my cabinets so that our kitchen cabinet painters could come. I accidentally fell and smashed it while I was standing on a step stool to reach the top shelves. It was not fun haha. Hope you get feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteOh, Joy, you seem to have the worst luck and spend too much time at hospitals. You didn't say if this means time off from work, but even so, with a broken finger, you can't get much sewing or artwork done anyway. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeletePat
So sorry about your fall, and very glad that the injuries were minor. I feel your pain and the embarrassment of falling - been there and done that - once with a horrible goose egg at QuiltCon!
ReplyDeleteYikes! I am so sorry to hear that. I am also glad that you didn't hurt your face. Wishing you a speedy recovery. When you feel better, you can try playing with painting using your left hand. It is kind of fun. Love the colorplay in your journal, specially the red one.
