This is Wendy's February Reveal but I (Janine) am posting it here for technical reasons. Please visit her blog to see her post and find out more about this beautiful quilt. You can find her post here: http://www.piecefulthoughts.com/the-endeavorers-reveal-day-texture/
I love the rainbow colors. To me it looks like a beach scene. It’s like when queen Victoria visited the coast in England. The little houses look very European then below that is a wall where the textured stitching is. Below that it goes down into the ocean and the bottom textures look like seaweed and shells in the waves. Congratulations on a sweet finish.
Thank you, Paula. The houses were not entirely planned. I happened across that fabric while digging for another, and I just had to add them in. However, it's interesting that you get a beach scene from the piece; I kept thinking similarly, like a little rivertown theme, or something by water. Thanks for your kind encouragement!
This is so cheerful, and I love all the techniques. Glad you could join in, Wendy!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I enjoyed it very much!
DeleteExciting color!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janie. I do like bright intense colors, so this was a fun excuse to play with some!

DeleteI feel like I am standing on a pebbley bank looking across a river to a little village - lovely
ReplyDeleteThank you, Brit! It's fun to see what you all see when you look at my piece!
