Click here for more details on the card and the Gap Card fold tutorial...
Any my apologies for brevity (and no links etc) for this post and over the last few days... but I was away for a long weekend for a special event (more on that later)... and I just ran out of time as I had 5 posts to write up!

And of course I couldn't explain at the time as that would announce to the world that I was away for a few days!!

Tranquil Winter Woods Trio #2

An even simpler version of yesterday's card... so I can explain the background to you... Don't worry... it is only short & sweet!

I have used Glossy card for the white panel ... mainly because... well ... it was out! (as the Whisper White would work well enough... and the Shimmer Paper would be great too..)
I inked up the tree branches with my Tranquil Tide ink pad... and then went over the tree trunks with my Early Espresso marker pen... and then stamped...

As I had used Glossy card.... I then heated the panel with my Heat Gun to dry off the inks... as otherwise I would have ended up with a smudgy mess all over...
I then masked off the bottom of my tree trunks on the panel... a simple hand cut curve on a piece of paper doing the job...

And lightly sponged Balmy Blue ink to create  my sky
Early Espresso stamped greeting... a bit of gluing and mounting... and the job was done...

Click here to get more information on the product's used... including product pictures and even a video...

And now you know how... do check out yesterday's card with some Dashing Deer to add to to the scene...
Just spot that I had a higher "snow bank" in the Dashing Deer version... which means that the wording is over the trees instead of above as in today's card...

And I finished off yesterday's with a line of Tombow plus Dazzling Diamonds glitter for my snow line.... which I didn't do on today's to leave simple things as simple as can be! But you can!!

Card Recipe
Card Blank  - Sahara Sand 10.5cm Square Card Blank (US 4 1/4" Square)
Mat  - Tranquil Tide 9.5cm Square (US 3 3/4" Square)
Panel - Glossy White 9cm Square (US 3 1/2" Square)

And here is a Stampin' Up! video on the Winter Woods bundle...

And today I have also used the Dashing Deer stamps and dies... Also available in wood and clear mount - bundled or in the 2 parts... Love this bundle so you will be seeing a lot more of it in the next few weeks and months ahead!
Dashing Deer Clear-Mount Bundle
I will be back shortly with more details on how I created the background... but for today... spot the larger deer on the left... I subtly sponged the white die cut area around the antlers with Balmy Blue... and his bottom... so it merged better into that background...
Like so...

Before you recycle your Christmas cards! Determine your Style!?

Something a bit different today... but hopefully something that will be interesting (about me)... and thought provoking (for you)...

And for those of you that are not sure... maybe a way to define your crafting style(s)!? So I am throwing down a New Year challenge here for you...

So today was the day for clearing away my christmas decorations...and making my house look really bare...!  And then all the christmas cards we were sent were taken down...

And then I had a thought as I carried them to the recycling bin!

I sorted through them... allowing myself to pick just 12ish that I most liked... and here they are....
So what do these tell me about my crafting style... and there probably won't be any surprises here for my long term blog followers... I think these kind of some me up!

I like lots of white space!

I like a clean & simple style!

I like large square cards!

I like things to be fairly monotone - silver/gold/black with maybe a splash of red!

I like lots of glitter & shine on christmas cards!
I like trees!
I like wreaths!
I like houses & churches!
I like big words!
I like snowflakes and baubles!
Just one thing of my crafting style that isn't evident... no fancy folds!! But that is only as I wasn't sent any!

Though I have to admit that I purposely didn't select from my hand made cards... as that is just too hard... because (1) I would always select them to be in my Top 12 cards as they are always the best cards I receive! (2) I so appreciate the work that has gone into them so it would be impossible not to select them (3) Many are made with the sender knowing what I like in any case! (4) Many are from my blog followers!

Now I found this so fascinating that I allowed my self to choose another 12ish that hadn't made the original cut... and I learnt more....
I really like trees!! As long as they are covered in glitter!
I rather like cute Rudolphs! And reindeer in general! Even the stocking is covered in reindeer...
I rather like nordic/kraft & red
So I can hear you asking if there were any surprises!? I think the liking of the wreaths so much and the reindeer was probably the biggest surprise for me.... and that I didn't receive any cards with doors or windows on!!!

So hows about you??? What is your style...?? I would love to hear back from anyone that conducts this experiment for themselves.... or am I just too daft!!!

Rudolph Christmas Treats Fry Box

Santa was feeling lonely!!
So I made him a friend...
Rudolph with his nose so bright...
And here is the Punch Art crib sheet... oops just realised I took all of these photos before I put his Festive Flower Builder ears on! Back soon...
Though I have to admit that the Rudolph face looks a lot scarier when you just stick the bits on top of each other! Definitely better with eyes to the front and mane/antlers at the back!

Wonderland Antlers Lattice!?

Before I start - remember to check out the new Weekly Deals - also scrolling off to the right of the blog... I will be ordering on Friday if you want to save yourself that postage!

Couldn't really think what else to call this!!?
This one is rather marmite!
Everyone has either loved it  - or hated it! Though I think the over-riding reason has been antlers full stop - rather than this card!
I shall remain on the fence! At least it is different!!
Again Early Espresso antlers stamped repeatedly without re-inking in between. Top & bottom at full strength - centre weakest... all with the aid of my trusty Stamp A Ma Jig...

Now I have jut remembered something else I REALLY wanted to try.... maybe at the weekend!
