The full game is actually around $5-10 (i forget but it's one of the two) and I watched a youtuber named IGP play this and it seemed pretty interesting!
Probably one of the most atmospheric and moody openings for a game I've played in a long time. I wanted to give the demo a shot first but I will definitely go for the full version soon! Excellent atmosphere, music, voice acting and design. Kudos to the team!
The graphics and music are excellent! The gameplay is not bad but I would like to be able to walk faster, even when the possibility of running is activated, you hardly notice the difference with walking.
In the lighthouse on the floor where is the network I was stuck, I leave an image so that they take it into account to improve. Luckily, leaving the game and re-entering it unlocks and you don't have to start from scratch.
Anyway, considering it's an indie game, it's pretty cool! And I hope they keep improving.
Looks fantastic and runs very smoothly. I am using a keyboard/mouse combo, but the 'jump' (space bar) doesn't seem to work, hence, I can't get very far.
I have some feedback because I always detail stuff that looks off, here are some: -There is a grilled steak in a pan in front of the lighthouse.
-You can easilly get stucked into anything in the first and second floor of the lighthouse.
Aside from that the game looks amazing, cool environment, the voice acting is nice and I'm looking forward to play the full thing once is available! :D
Pd: I hope the final game has an option to turn off radial blurr.
There are 2 seals just the second is well hidden, we should have placed it somewhere more obvious most of the players had problem finding the second seal! wich was on the boat in the zero floor of the lighthouse
Ohh, I see... I just forgot about another issue while playing, I cannot interact with the artifact close by the boat in the beggining... and the pictures, I just cannot interact with anything that has the Ctlhulhu icon...
Didnt find the second one too walking down the shore after unlocking the first seal on the right. Quit then spawned in the lighthouse again. Went down to the basement where i got the first seal and could pick up another one which i could open the second seal with.
Im a youtuber and would love to play the game and support your campaign by talking about it on the video. How can I help? Email me at [email protected]
Your game looks amazing and i would love to promote it on my YouTube channel. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to partner with you throughout your development! Please feel free to email me at [email protected].
Has anyone else run into a glitch around the lighthouse? After releasing the monolith and heading back to the lighthouse, I chose to take the path down to the beach with the dead shark. After wandering around for a bit I headed back to the lighthouse to take the other path. Only I didn't have the amulet any longer, so I couldn't activate the statue blocking this second path. I've wandered around for a bit now seeing if I missed anything, but I'm absolutely stuck. After skimming some youtube videos, it appears I went down the paths out of order. I haven't watched too much of the videos because I'm trying to save the experience, but if I'm stuck this would be a pretty big bug. I reported it through the game already, but I was curious if anyone else had run into this.
Very sorry you got stuck. Theres another one of those rock amulets hidden in the first floor of the lighthouse, its on that boat in the corner. Apparently we hid it to well since pretty much nobody was able to find it!
oh man, it was right there! I'm really glad I didn't rag on your game too much when it was really my fault. I'm glad I didn't reset my game.
I don't think you hid it too well, I think it's more of an issue of the players not knowing what to look for. I was looking right at it and couldn't see it for a few moments. I think sometimes games need to communicate how hard you need to look. Some games the critical items are basically handed to you, so you don't need to spend much time searching every corner of every room. Other games make you search out every item. Knowing which type of game you're playing helps set expectations.
Hey, I did a little blind playthrough of your demo in 2 parts, very impressive looking game that I'm definitely looking forward to the full release of! First video is up here for anyone who cares:
If you want constructive criticism I would say the walking is a slight bit slow in the beginning, when you don't know where to go there can be a lot of time consuming hiking back and forth and also it's a bit confusing to know where you can and cannot go because the low rocks with invisible walls on top often look like you should be able to travel even in places where you can't. Oh and also that dark maze area was just a little bit too dark I thought, but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed this one and I hope you finish it! PS I also got completely stuck in the hammock in the light house so you may want to look at that too :)
Lowering the art resolution and compressing the sounds would be a good idea for reducing the file size. No one will notice the low res art if you do that because it's a 3D game.
Here we go guys. Managed to get it recorded in the end. Really enjoyed the demo. I felt it could use some work on the combat that was clunky and unenjoyable. It felt like a chore. The text reading was difficult, although a nice touch it really could do with a text overlay mode so you can read it in clear text rather than the faded paper with script writing.
But the plus points, absolutely stunning graphics, intriguing story from the get go, looking forwards finding out more. Brilliant voice acting considering it was done over mobile (sounded a lot like Josh Brolin. :D). Great demo guys, really pumped to play the full game now! Well done.
Ive only just got through the start of the demo but it's such a beautiful game! The look and atmosphere is stunning and it looks like itnhas so much promise. It reminds me a lot of the forest in that for an independent game, it looks incredible. I'm looking forward to seeing more!
Obviously, the game looks fantastic, and I appreciate the story, as well. My biggest ask is for a little more direction, or visual blocks for areas I'm not supposed to get to. I just asked myself over and over why I couldn't just step over the rocks and cross to the other boat, instead of taking the route through the statue. and maybe add more rocks and debris around the diving suit, because nothing really stood out to tell me which little bit of ocean I could walk into. Other than that, I expect the final product to be incredible! Good luck!
I really wanted to play your game for my YouTube channel but unfortunately it seems impossible to record on a 1 PC setup. Even on low settings it was running 100% on my 1080GTX 3700X. If I cap the frame rate at 30 frames it drops slightly but not still not enough headroom to record the game and my cam. It's a shame because the visuals looked really good. I'm hoping you can optimise the game in the future to enable me to cover the game on my channel.
I believe I solved my problem. I have no idea why but some other system resource was hogging the GPU. I have been able to record it OK now which I'm so glad of because I really wanted to play it. As expected, fantastic graphics, but I'll post my video and full comments when I've had chance to reflect. :D Thanks for replying.
So I've been trying to play this for awhile. Getting a lot of lag. Audio makes odd noises, like static clicks. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?
I'm generally not one where I concentrate on the game's aesthetics, but gosh darn, is this game pretty to look at. I can just chill out at the shore for days just watching the water and the waves. A+++ effort on graphics. The story is also very interesting, looking forward to seeing the full game!
Hi! I am contacting creators/developers on behalf of a graduate researcher studying how Lovecraft is represented in games. If you have time to complete a 10-minute survey about The Shore, please send a message to: masonsmith [at] tamu [dot] edu.
This is the most beautiful and the best game I tried in itch. I loved the vibe it gave me, where a lot of them are childhood related(but thats beside the point). There were some parts i didn't quite understand, but since it's demo, I understand why.
I am surprised by the massive effort you've done during the corona lockdown, where the result gave me a feeling I cannot desribe about this game. Some of it where the graphic, music, athmosphere, etc.
Can't wait to see how the final product will be. Good luck!!!
I have never been so impressed by a horror game before! The quality of the assets, the story narrated by a grizzled old sailor, and the lore of the HP Lovecraft books! Even more so when I heard you had a hard time due to the Covid-19 crisis! An amazing job guys! I can't wait to see how that project continues in the future!
VERY DOPE GAME!!! Reminded me a lot of the movie The Lighthouse. Great graphics, dope storyline. Well worth the download (13GBs!!!!) lol. I hope you enjoy my reaction!!!

None of the links work sadly BUT I'm trying to find a way to find it, and I'm gonna reply to my own comment if I find it or not
IF I DOWNLOAD THAT MY COMPUTER'S GONNA DIE LMAO
so i downloaded the demo and the application isn't even in the file and its not on my pc any where did i get scammed or what happened
I got the actual game on Steam. Word of advice, don't waste your time or money on this heap
My Good friend, the game is free.
There is no money to pay, I fail to see how to waste it.

Ah okay I see, thanks!
One of the best games i've played on this site easily
Will it come to PS4 or PS5? The game looks great!
after we finish the VR version yes consoles are next
That's so nice! Didn't know you were making as Vr version.

Great game!

Looking great! But I'm unable to download it from any of the three links.
Is there a torrent link? It's taking ages to download from links provided.
Thanks. :)
One of the move visually stunning horror indies I've played recently, great job!
It works like a charm... I just think I've found a bug towards the end of the demo, my coin cannot work on the monument to open up the next path...
Keep up the great work! Can't wait to play the full game, I really want to play the game on my indie games only YouTube channel.

Just kept crashing over and over again after only a half minute or so.

It`s called Quixel Megascans and hell it saves most of us who work with UE4.
really great start to a game! Loved the visuals and the story! I hope to see this game expand in the future.

i am glad you solved it, sometimes unwanted programs cause sudden GPU spikes, had to format my whole pc last year to solve it
Trying to install the game demo on Windows 10, have plenty of room for it but it freezes and crashes at halfway installed.
Sorry for the inconvenience, unfortunately you are not the first to have this problem.
By following this link you can directly download the folder withholding the demo files.
https://fil.email/GqlsXEKB
After downloading, all you gotta do is double click the shore, exe
Thank you but even that download failed. It got halfway then kept saying "file error"
game look amazing looking for full game cant wait
So I've been trying to play this for awhile. Getting a lot of lag. Audio makes odd noises, like static clicks. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?

What system specs do you have? Also do you have the game installed on an SSD or an HDD?
