Wakwak

The Wakwak is a predatory creature in the form of a vampiric bird that mainly preys on human children. Its arrival is heralded by the appearance of an icy fog, and it makes less noise the closer it comes to its prey. It can apparently commonly be found in the Philippines, though hunts for it also take place in Pennsylvania, USA.

Tales of the Wakwak were retold in folklore. Alex Malto's grandfather once saved a lost child from a Wakwak, and used to take Alex on Wakwak hunts.

Shortly after moving to Witwicky, Alex retold the story of the Wakwak to his kids. He was unable to get any of them interested in going on the traditional Wakwak hunt, but managed to persuade Bumblebee to come along, and passed on his Wakwak-fighting Kali defense techniques. Traditions
