This article is about the Decepticon spinosaur of undetermined universal origin. For the Cybertron-series Animatron-born spinosaur, see Undermine (Cybertron).
Undermine is a Decepticon of undetermined universal origin (via the 2010 Transformers toyline).

Undermine unquestionably lives up to his name. It doesn't matter how good things are going, he'll find something to complain about. His own perceived shortcomings, problems with his fellow Decepticons, anything and everything is fair game to be grumbled about. This has pretty effectively alienated him from the other Decepticons, so they avoid him as much as possible, adding "lack of teamwork" to Undermine's litany of grievances.[1]

Whatever you do, don't leave him on display next to any T. rex transformers. You'll just find what they didn't get to eat.

Transformers Undermine is a rebranded re-release of the Cybertron Undermine toy, transforming into a robotic Spinosaurus. Plugging a Cyber Planet Key into the back-end of his dino-mode sail reveals a spring-out blade, a gimmick also usable in robot mode as a head-mounted horn. His dino-tail detaches to form a flail-weapon in robot mode, which plugs into holes in the tops of his hand-claws. He comes with a silver-bordered Jungle Planet-styled Cyber Planet Key (simply called a "key" on the packaging).
He was available at Big Lots! stores in the United States, Maxi&Cie/Superstore and Winners in Canada, and Toys"R"Us stores in the UK. In all instances he was available alongside Backstop and Wreckloose.

Notes

  • Just where Backstop, Undermine, and Wreckloose "fit", dimensionally, was up for debate. Their bios pretty clearly make them out to be separate characters from their Cybertron namesakes while—with typical 2010-on vagueness—offering no insights into what universe they're "supposed" to go in. The packaging also does not help place them, being red-colored like the Generations toyline, but lacking any other series identifier. As such, this wiki placed them under the umbrella "2010" line just for ease of organization until the 2015 story, "Head Games", made Backstop and Wreckloose Beast Wars characters in the Generation 1 continuity family. This was probably meant to apply to Undermine as well, but the lack of explicit mention leaves it an open question.
