Synopsis

This book recounts the events of "Megatron Rising - Part 1" and "Megatron Rising - Part 2", through the use of cartoon screen captures arranged in comic book style panels.

Notes

Megatron Rising - Part 1

  • An additional news report narration is added over the opening shots to describe the snowy conditions.
  • Megatron calls Sumdac an imbecile after the power goes out.
  • When Lugnut receives Megatron's transmission, his apology for failing is missing, making Megatron's comment about the past being of no consequence look like he's responding to nothing.
  • A big chunk of dialog between Starscream saying "Did you just say Megatron?" and him scanning Lugnut is trimmed, as is the end of the scene after Starscream tells the other two Decepticons to find the AllSpark Key.
  • The sequence where Sari's plane hits Ratchet on the head is missing, but her subsequent embarrassed grin is used for the earlier dialog in which she says it's not fair she has to give up the key.
  • Bumblebee leaving to find Sari is trimmed as well, the scene ending with his speech to Prime about how she's helped them since they arrived on Earth.
  • Ratchet breaking out of his ice prison is missing.
  • Starscream's "YOU INTERRUPTED MY SPEECH!" line is replaced with "Any last words? Good, 'cause I really don't want to hear them."
  • Bumblebee gets an extra "Somebody down there really likes me!" when Megatron zaps Starscream with a surge of power.
  • The other Autobots' arrival at Sumdac Tower is gone—they just appear out of nowhere in time for Optimus to give a "No!" after Megatron busts out through the roof.

Megatron Rising - Part 2

  • Extra dialog crops up during the Optimus/Megatron fight: "Let's see how tough you are without those swords." and "What's the point of having a new body if you can't test it out?"
  • Megatron breaking free of Optimus's grapplers and throwing the Autobot into the side of a building is trimmed.
  • Starscream's line about the decision having been made is moved back to the earlier sequence of him tossing Bumblebee around on the roof.
  • When Ratchet first contacts Prime, he mentions that Sari is safe, which makes it odd when a couple of pages later, Bumblebee is still worried about Sari.
  • Blitzwing's speech bubbles, which are usually colored depending on which personality is speaking, are left white as Bumblebee and Ratchet zap him with an electromagnetic pulse.
  • A whole chunk of the battle after Bulkhead says "You talk too much" is excised, jumping to the scene with Sumdac telling Sari he has something to tell her. Likewise the following fight scene with the Autobots tricking Blitzwing into transforming in mid-air is missing as is most of the remainder of the fight between Optimus and Megatron until they come crashing into the ship.

Trivia

  • According to the back cover, four Decepticons constitutes a full-scale Decepticon invasion. Well, they are pretty huge.
