A gold paint job can't hide the lameness.
  • Starscream (Legends Class, 2007)
Released in the third wave of Transformers Legends Class figures, Starscream is a highly simplified, low-cost version of Starscream and transforms into a fully licensed F-22 Raptor.
This mold was also used to make Revenge of the Fallen Thundercracker.

Tiny toys are tiny. And they don't do Starscream justice.
  • Battle for the Allspark (Toys'R'Us exclusive multi-pack, 2007)
A Toys"R"Us exclusive, this six-pack of Legends class figures contains unmodified toys of Optimus Prime, Jazz, Bumblebee, Megatron, Starscream, and Barricade.

  • Nightwatch Optimus Prime vs. Stealth Starscream (Legends Class Allspark Battles two-pack, 2008)
The previously released Legends-class Starscream toy is redecoed predominantly black and silver, somewhat resembling Generation 1 Skywarp. Oddly enough, the paint applications are identical to the regular toy. He comes with a redeco Legends-class Optimus Prime in his Nightwatch color scheme.

  • Protoform Starscream (Deluxe Class, 2007)
    • TakaraTomy ID number: MD-05
    • Accessories: Gun with missile and flame attachment
Based upon the "Protoform" (Cybertronian) appearances of the Transformers in the movie, Protoform Starscream transforms into his "entry" mode Cybertronic rocket thing. This mode somewhat resembles a Cybertronic spaceship, with a visible bridge between the two dorsal fins. A flame decoration piece fits onto the back of the "vehicle" over the missile projectile, creating the illusion of a flaming comet's tail . The bottom of the vehicle has small wheels to roll the toy across smooth surfaces. In robot mode, Starscream marginally resembles previous Starscreams, mostly G1 Starscream, with the large turbines on his chest, wings and vents on his legs. Due to his extensive use of ball joints, he has excellent articulation.
Starscream is armed with a spring-loaded missile launcher that fires the previously mentioned projectile cast in the same bronze color as his body. Alternatively, the flame decoration can be fitted onto the end of the barrel. The flame can also be placed onto the missile, using both at once. However, in some cases, the flame does not have a snug fit on the missile and falls off easily. This makes firing the missile rather awkward and makes the gun look extremely goofy.
This toy also has an Automorphing feature, as most of the figures in the main line do. Pushing his head back during transformation will move his shoulder pieces back into place, while moving the shoulders forward will make the head pop back up.
It has been reported that this figure can suffer from GPS, as the bronze plastic it is cast in has the same characteristic swirling exhibited by older figures that rapidly deteriorated. The gold plastic tends to get especially brittle on the hinges that attach the two small wings to his legs. The plastic that houses the joints is somewhat thin and will give way over time. It is highly suggested that this toy not be painted or altered in any way to maximize its lifespan.[2] Thankfully, to date, this is so far one of the last recorded instances of GPS, meaning Hasbro has most likely caught on and stopped using this type of gold plastic.
The card back stock photo of Protoform Starscream features a completely different deco, with silver replacing all the bronze. It also has a different, earlier head sculpt. (See Notes below)

Great Cybertron! I look delicious!
  • Protoform Starscream Fusion Cluster Edition (C3xHobby Convention exclusive Deluxe Class, 2007)
    • Accessories: Gun with missile and flame attachment
An extensive redeco of the Protoform Starscream mold that was exclusively available at the Japanese C3xHobby Convention in August of 2007, and later offered by e-HOBBY in limited quantities. Most of the body is made out of transparent orange plastic, while orange and yellow paint are used on the front end of the "entry" mode, mimicking the heat effects of sudden atmospheric entry. The flame attachment is made out of clear blue plastic, with the tail end being covered in gold paint.

  • Gold Protoform Starscream (Deluxe Class, 2008)
    • Accessories: Gun with missile and flame attachment
This gold vacuum metallized Protoform Starscream figure was featured as a Lucky Draw giveaway (alongside similarly gold vac-metal versions of Voyager class Optimus Prime and Protoform Optimus Prime) in the December 2007 issue of TV Magazine. Released in 2008, only 5 pieces were made.

Voyager Class toys

Shake hands with danger.
  • Starscream (Voyager Class, 2007)
    • TakaraTomy ID number: MD-08
    • Accessories: Six missiles
Released in the second wave of Transformers Voyagers, Starscream transforms into an officially-licensed Lockheed-Martin F-22 Raptor fighter jet, and is based on concept artwork for the film, complete with his beige coloration, and bulkier proportions.[3].
Pushing the fighter along a smooth surface causes the missile-launching barrels to rotate and fire their projectiles, which can also be stored in the black flip-up braces on the launchers. The gimmick works via a panel on the back of each launcher that presses the individual triggers as the barrels rotate. These panels are hinged, so they can be flipped out to deactivate the gimmick and be used as landing gear to lift the geared wheels off the floor. This gimmick doesn't always work very well. If the toy's gears are not perfecty aligned during assembly, the spinning cannons can be stopped by the firing tab or rotate right past it without even firing. Many samples don't even rotate at all![citation needed] During transformation, pushing up upon the canopy fuselage piece activates Starscream's Automorphing gimmick, which pushes panels out of the torso, wings and stabilizers. In robot mode, Starscream is almost faithful to his movie CGI model and aforementioned concept artwork, except he lacks the engines on his back and has large Gatling cannons that serve as his arms, with the missiles sculpted to resemble fingers.
In Japan, starting on July 19th, buying Starscream from JUSCO stores netted customers the exclusive promotional freebie Micron Torque Gain.
This toy was later retooled and redecoed into Movie Thundercracker, ROTF Ramjet, and ROTF Skywarp.

TF-2007-Sams-Club-Arcee-Starscream-Optimus-Prime-3-pack.jpg
  • Arcee, Starscream & Optimus Prime (Sam's Club exclusive three-pack, 2007)
A three-pack, exclusive to Sam's Club stores, consisting of redecos of Voyager Class Optimus Prime and Deluxe Class Arcee, both with a battle damage deco, and an unchanged Voyager Class Starscream.

"The first G1 fan who complains gets a minigun... to the face."
  • Starscream (Target exclusive Voyager Class, 2007)
    • Accessories: Six missiles
  • Known designers: Joe Kyde (deco artist)
An extensive redeco of Voyager class Starscream available only as a Target exclusive, this version is redecoed in a color scheme based upon Generation 1 Starscream. This version of Starscream shares the retooled version of this mold with Movie Thundercracker, giving Starscream a new, vaguely G1-ish head sculpt. The packaging for this toy explains that Starscream altered his appearance following his escape at the end of the film in order to avoid detection.

Pinkscream.
  • Starscream Vardia Red Model (Toshiba exclusive Voyager Class, 2007)
    • Accessories: Six missiles
In a joint venture by Paramount Home Entertainment Japan and electronics giant Toshiba, Starscream Vardia Red Model is an exclusive redeco of Voyager Starscream only available with Toshiba's new Vardia RD-A301 HD DVD recorder. The package also comes with an HD-DVD copy of Transformers, five HD DVD-R and five DVD-R discs.
Starscream Vardia Red Model is extremely red, with some gold, a little black and Toshiba Vardia markings on his hull. With the player costing 100,000 yen (over $900 USD) at the time, this may be the most expensive Transformers exclusive to be released in relatively large quantities.

I'm Starscream, and I can breathe in space.
  • Deep Space Starscream (Target exclusive "Premium Series" Voyager Class, 2008)
    • Accessories: Six missiles
  • Known designers: Joe Kyde (deco artist)
A Target exclusive, Deep Space Starscream is a redeco of the first version of Voyager class Starscream, based upon the colours used by Industrial Light & Magic on Starscream's CGI model (instead of the concept artwork's biege coloration used on the previous release). As such he is metallic silver with complementary greys in fighter mode, including the 'First Fighter' (FF) squadron markings indicating he is an F-22 Raptor from Langley Air Force Base. In robot mode reveals gold paint inside his chest detailing and red for circuitry detailing. His eyes are painted film-accurate red, but the rest of the Light-piping that makes up the back of his head is left uncolored, making the glowing eye effect no longer work while STILL retaining the miscolored bronzed glass color that the clear plastic was molded in. If one wanted to restore the light piping, though, the paint is fairly easy to remove.
Deep Space Starscream is presented in 'Premium Octagonal' packaging very similar to Robo-Vision Optimus Prime. Even though Hasbro officially considers him as part of the Premium Series, this is not indicated anywhere on the packaging. This toy was given a European mass retail release in 2009.

ACG-HK-2008-Transformers-Commemorative-Box-Set.jpg
  • Transformers Commemorative Box Set (Decepticon) (2008)
Released an an exclusive for Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong (ACG, also known as Ani-Con) 2008, The Deep Space Starscream toy is released without any changes along with Premium Series Megatron, Premium Barricade, Premium Blackout, and a Brawl. The toys are packaged with a synthetic, leather-like box with a half-trimmed Decepticon Symbol, and it comes with a sheet of Certificate of Authenticity.
The boxsets are limited to 100 pieces.

Fast Action Battlers

(thumbnail)
You are the Dragon Booster Artha!
  • Battle Blade Starscream (Fast Action Battler, 2007)
    • TakaraTomy ID number: QC-02
Fast Action Battlers "Battle Blade" Starscream transforms into a somewhat superdeformed F-22 Raptor, simplifying the overall design to the point of his feet noticeably sticking out the aft of the fighter, and has a truncated transformation sequence reminiscent of past Transformers such as Generation 1 Jetfire and Cybertron Thundercracker. Rather than having a separate weapon, he only has a claw-like blade that flips over the right hand (hence "Battle Blade") and non-removable missiles in the palms of his hands.
The rubber lower legs of this toy were known for getting bent into odd positions and hardening in those positions if left that way for too long, to the point where people break the upper legs attempting too "fix" the bend of the lower legs.
This toy was later redecoed as Claw Slash Ramjet.
There is a Korean fake of this model going around, under the name of "Latent Spider". Fortunately no real spiders have been found latent inside the toy.

Red Rooster

  • Starscream (Little Red Rooster Meal, 2007)
One of five toys that was available at Red Rooster, an Australian based fast food chain. This kids meal toy is a black F-22 Raptor with a silver canopy that transforms by simply flipping the jet around to reveal the gray robot mode underneath, pulling down the landing gear and legs, and standing him upright.

Revenge of the Fallen

Legends Class toys

(thumbnail)
So I wake up with a hangover and find all these tattoos all over me. Damn parties.
  • Starscream (Legends, 2009)
    • Japanese ID number: EZ-04
Legends class Starscream is a redeco of 2007's Legends class Starscream, the main difference being a more unified color scheme and the Revenge of the Fallen-specific Cyberglyph tattoos adorning his jet mode.
For some odd reason, his card back depicts how to transform him from his alt-mode to his robot mode; as all Legends are packaged in robot mode, wouldn't robot-to-vehicle work better?
In Malaysia, this toy was also one of the four Legends Class figures to be released as promotional merchandise for the Petronas Gas Station. He can be obtained starting from the 5th of July, via RM30 ($7.04) worth of gas or RM15 ($3.52) worth of foods and items in the Mesra Shop.

(thumbnail)
Bumblebee, Optimus Prime and Megatron all got new Legends molds for the sequel, but me? No, not STARSCREAM. *sob*
  • Smokescreen vs. Starscream (Legends 2-pack, 2010)
Starscream is a redeco of 2007's Legends class Starscream. He came packaged with Smokescreen as a Target exclusive as part of the "N.E.S.T. Global Alliance" subline imprint. His paint scheme appears to be inspired by the Kmart exclusive Voyager class "Nebular Starscream" redeco.

(thumbnail)
At long last, I have fingers! And tattoos! Odd.
  • Starscream (Voyager, 2009)
    • Japanese ID number: RD-02
    • Accessories: 2 projectiles
Revenge of the Fallen Voyager class Starscream is far more accurate to the movie model in both modes than the previous movie's Voyager mold, with a more dramatic transformation scheme to boot.
In robot mode, Starscream has two arm-mounted, spring loaded missile launchers sculpted to resemble his M61A2 Vulcan 20 mm rotary cannons. These weapons end up underneath and facing backwards in vehicle mode. He also has a Mech Alive gimmick, which is linked between his head and chest; when you turn his head, the gears in his chest spin.
He has amber light piping for his eyes, but they've been painted over in red.
(thumbnail)
I had more joints!
According to the stock photos of the hand-painted prototype (seen at left), Starscream's hands originally had a joint down the middle of his palms, possibly to facilitate in hiding them in fighter mode. His arm-mounted cannons were also originally separate parts from his forearms, jointed to move back and forth, again possibly to hide them in fighter mode. However this was changed for the final toy, with the hands now molded as one piece and unable to be hidden in vehicle mode, and his cannons' details (including the joints) simply molded directly onto his arms. His knee caps were also originally a separate movable piece and not joined to his upper leg. It is assumed that all this was done for cost cutting. His packaging call-outs (excepting Europe) still claim that he has "pop out missile launchers," despite this gimmick's removal. The toy's instructions include a superfluous "flip down hands" step, and depict the missile launchers extended with partially-folded hands when describing the missile-launch action.

(thumbnail)
A redeco of Starscream as Starscream? Well, that's novel.
  • Nebular Starscream (Voyager, 2010)
    • Accessories: 2 projectiles
A redeco of the new-mold Revenge of the Fallen Voyager class Starscream, Nebular Starscream is a "powered up" version of Starscream (with his packaging going so far as to promote his "exclusive powered-up paint job"). He was exclusive to Kmart stores in North America.

Fast Action Battlers

(thumbnail)
Kids, tattoos are awesome, get some NOW!
  • Sword Slash Starscream (Fast Action Battler, 2009)
Sword Slash Starscream is a redeco of the 2007 Battle Blade Starscream, with the plane parts colored gray and covered in cyberglyphics and the robot parts colored bronze. His flip-out blade is now purple. There is a common version of this toy that omits the bronze paint, leaving the robot parts a mix of gray and darker gray. He also has the rubberized lower legs of the original that harden into bowlegged shapes with age.

Gravity Bots

(thumbnail)
Some toys have hands or maybe a head sticking out of their alternate modes, but Starscream has WHOLE LEGS.
  • Starscream (Gravity Bot, 2009)
    • Japanese ID number: GB-03
As a Gravity Bot, this Starscream features no articulation at all, but relies wholly on a gravity-based autotransformation gimmick. When laid down on a flat surface, Starscream will transform into a super deformed F-22, while standing him on his feet again will switch him to robot mode. His cockpit is now a metallic blue instead of the amber/orange.
His unique aircraft mode (compared to the line's land-based vehicles) gives him a unique transformation, with his wings folding inward and revealing his arms, and the cockpit rotating, flipping down, and revealing his head. Quite awesomely as a result, he is the only Gravity Bot not to use fake kibble for his chest. Go Starscream!

Robot Replicas

(thumbnail)
"Hey guys, like my tattoos?"
  • Starscream (Robot Replica, 2009)
Robot Replicas Starscream sacrifices transformation for the sake of accuracy. The figure about 5 1/2" tall and features multiple joints based on the Revoltech design.

Transformers (2010)

(thumbnail)
"NO ONE DEFEATS BILL RAAAWLEY"
  • Starscream (Leader, 2010)
Released in the first wave of 2010 Transformers Leader-class toys, this massive Starscream transforms into an officially licensed Lockheed-Martin F-22 Raptor fighter jet, decoed in a gunmetal-like gray and covered in Cybertronian tattoos to more accurately reflect his on-screen appearance in Revenge of the Fallen than his Voyager Class toys. In robot mode, either of Starscream's hands can fold down to accommodate a spring-loaded cannon that fires one of two included projectiles; both missiles and the cannon can be stored via pegs on his back. When the fins on the missiles are lined up with the slot on Starscream's wrist, the missiles can also attach to his hands using the same holes as the missile launcher. In Raptor mode, the launcher stores in a space on the underside, and can be flipped out to fire his missiles from underneath. Starscream also features two flip-out, non-firing weapons on his forearms: a cannon resembling an M61 Vulcan on the right, and two generic missiles on the left.
Starscream's primary gimmick in this size is the addition of electronic lights and sounds. Pulling down on his canopy in robot mode opens chest panels and his mouth and produces one of two phrases (as impersonated by Bill Rawley himself): "Decepticons will crush the Autobots!" and "No one can defeat Starscream!" in the version released in the United States, and simply "Decepticons!" and "Starscream!" in the version released in rest of the world, including most of the version released in Canada, Mexico, and Latin America. Additionally, the canopy activates LEDs which light up Starscream's clear, red eyes and various other portions of clear, amber plastic in his chest. During transformation, a button is activated, causing the toy to play a four-note version of the transformation noise. In Raptor mode, Starscream's lights and sounds are activated by a Decepticon sigil-covered button on the top of the jet. In addition to lighting the canopy and turbines, this button plays two sounds: either generic jet engine noises or Starscream's voice saying either "No one can defeat Starscream!" (US) or simply "Starscream!" (International).
An important step was left out of the instructions concerning how to transform Starscream to robot mode. A flap attaches from the fuselage to the cockpit section. To disconnect this part, the cockpit window has to be lifted using notches on the side. Otherwise, you cannot flip the front of the jet forward.

(thumbnail)
Starscream finally gets what he always wanted- validation from Megatron.
  • The Victory of The Fallen (Multi-pack, 2010)
Transformers Legends-class Starscream is a redeco of the original 2007 mold, now in a semi-shiny gunmetal color with a yellow cockpit canopy.
He comes in a Kmart exclusive multi-pack, along with redecos of The Fallen, Megatron, Optimus Prime, and Jetfire.

(thumbnail)
The shelves need warming, and that's where we come in!
  • Starscream's Assault (Multi-pack, 2010)
  • Accessories: 2 projectiles
This Walmart-exclusive Hunt for the Decepticons two-pack is based upon the scene in Revenge of the Fallen where Starscream pursues Seymour Simmons, Mudflap and Skids in Egypt. The Voyager Class Starscream toy in this set features a much brighter plastic colour and has "battle damage" scorch mark paint decos.
This set also came with a Deluxe Mudflap in a weathered, sandblasted deco, plus a Starscream collector's card.

(thumbnail)
Starscream, you're "kawaii" now, so I have to warn you about the fangirls.
  • Starscream (Activator, 2010)
Part of the second wave of Transformers 2010 Activators, Starscream is a small toy with cutesified proportions in both robot and F-22 modes. His transformation is greatly simplified, with most of the jet parts just hanging off his back in robot mode. Like all Activators, Starscream features button-activated autotransformation from jet to robot.
While the card's photography shows Starscream as having rolling wheels for landing gear, the final has the landing gear molded in one piece with the legs, probably due to budget cuts.

Masterpiece Movie Series

(thumbnail)
I took a bath!
  • Starscream (October 30, 2010)
    • Movie: Transformers[4]
    • ID number: MPM-1
    • Accessories: Missile launcher, 2 missiles
Movie Masterpiece Starscream is a redeco of Leader Class Transformers (2010) Starscream without the Cybertronian glyphs on his body, and instead has an extensive, detailed paint scheme that matches his appearance in the first live action movie and the F-22 Raptors of the USAF First Fighter Wing from Langley Air Force Base. Starscream comes with a mini-comic by Simon Furman and Guido Guidi, titled Unite for the Universe.

(thumbnail)
Menacing Dorito.
  • Starscream (2020)
    • Movie: Transformers
    • ID number: MPM-10
    • TakaraTomy release date: October 31, 2020
    • Accessories: "Missile Arm Attachment", "Saw Attachment", "Gatling Blaster"
Exclusive to Target stores in the US, MPM-10 (or MPM-X) Starscream is based on his appearance in the first live action film, and is more accurate than his original MPM toy. The toy includes a much greater amount of articulation (totaling over 50 points), including individually articulated fingers, wings, thrusters, and a moving jaw. He includes die-cast parts, as well as over 150 paint applications. The 11-inch tall robot transforms into an officially licensed Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor in 63 steps, which features three retractable rolling landing gear. Unfortunately, as a trade-off for his extremely accurate robot mode, the jet mode has a hefty undercarriage, with some kibble protruding around his wings. He also has an inaccurate light gray-and-cream color scheme instead of darker metallic grays.
He includes his "Missile Arm Attachment", "Saw Attachment", and "Gatling Blaster". The former two peg into his folded-down wrists much like the Transformers (2010) toy, with an additional armature pegging into his forearms for increased accuracy and stability. The Gatling Blaster attaches to either forearm slot, but cannot be used on the same arm with the saw or missile launcher. All three accessories can be stored on the back of his robot mode and underneath the jet mode.
Notably, Starscream lacks waist and bicep swivels, though the latter can be somewhat compensated for by mistransforming his bicep hinges to bring his hands together.
The figure has a misassembly in which the feet are swapped, positioning the circular detail on the outside rather than the inside, which slightly decreases his stability. The stock photography shows the correct assembly which matches the CGI model. Other quality control issues that have been reported are loose ankles and a shoulder ratchets.

  • Starscream (Revenge of the Fallen Ver.) (2023)
    • Movie: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
    • ID number: MPM-10R
    • TakaraTomy release date: February, 2023
    • Accessories: "Missile Arm Attachment", "Saw Attachment", "Gatling Blaster"
MPM-10R Starscream (Revenge of the Fallen Ver.), the first Revenge of the Fallen-branded Masterpiece Movie figure (in the revamped line-up, anyways), is a redeco of the 2020 Masterpiece Movie Starscream mold, done up in a dark metallic gray color scheme and adding in the most accurate version of the tattoos he brands beginning with this movie. There are still two notable inaccuracies with the tattoos: the right bicep is completely wrong while the crotch's deco seems to be based on promotional renders instead of the film's design.
He includes his "Missile Arm Attachment", "Saw Attachment", and "Gatling Blaster", much like the original mold.
MPM-10R shares the same foot misassembly with MPM-10, where the circular detail is on the outside rather than inside, but does have improved joint tolerances.
This Starscream was revealed on August 9, 2022, with pre-orders opening the next day from Hasbro Pulse and other online retailers.

Dark of the Moon

Cyberverse

(thumbnail)
I shall call him...MINI-SCREAM!
  • Starscream / Orbital Assault Carrier (Cyberverse Action Set, 2011)
    • Series: 1
    • Number: 002
    • Japanese ID number: CV03
    • Accessories: missile launcher, missile, Chicago
A brand-new Cyberverse Legion-class mold, Starscream comes with an “Assault Craft” similar to the kind the Decepticons use in the film. Starscream himself is much more movie-accurate, better proportioned, and well articulated, capable of rotating his thighs, bending his arms, and raising his shoulders.
Like the previous movie's Voyager figure, Starscream's hands stick out of the back of the vehicle mode. Also, while landing gear is molded on both the undercarriage and the nose of the jet, the odd layout of robot parts in vehicle mode means they can't all rest on a flat surface at once.

(thumbnail)
This only serves to painfully reinforce how much better a toy the Cybertron figure is.
  • Bumblebee / Starscream (Cyberverse 4-pack, 2011)
    • Accessories: Gun
Exclusive to Toys"R"Us, this four pack contains two Bumblebee and two Starscream Cyberverse Legion toys. Cybertronian Starscream is a redeco of Cybertron Legends Class Starscream, while the other Starscream is a paint-heavy redeco and retool of the 2007 Transformers Legends Class toy, partially cast in translucent plastic and painted with grid lines, presumably to simulate a trans-scan effect. This Starscream also comes with a redecoed version of Robotmasters R-Blade's gun, which can be held in his newly retooled left hand.
The Starscreams come packed with a retool of Revenge of the Fallen Legends Class Bumblebee and a redeco of Universe Legends Class Bumblebee.
An early name for this set was "Cyberverse Evolution", which is still used by some websites (including the Australian and United Kingdom Toys"R"Us sites), but that name does not appear anywhere on the packaging.
Interestingly, his airbrushed packaging stock photography depicts him as lacking the retooled hand, while the regular stock photo to the right is flipped, showing him wielding his weapon with his right hand, instead of his left. Even more interestingly, his back wings are swapped.
The Cybertronian Starscream mold was also used to make Cybertron Ramjet, Skywarp, and Sunstorm, Universe Ramjet and Thrust, and War for Cybertron Starscream.

DOTM Cyberverse Legion Starscream.jpg
  • Starscream (Cyberverse Legion, 2011)
    • Series: 1
    • Number: 013
This is a redeco of the Dark of the Moon Legion class Starscream that was first available in the Orbital Assault Carrier Action Set. The deco on this release does away with the Cybertronian tattoos and replaces them with a normal F-22 Raptor colour scheme, much like Starscream's appearance in the 2007 Transformers live-action movie. A random symbol and a cropped Decepticon insignia is also tamopgraphed underneath the wings, which is present in robot mode.
The robot mode stock photo is mistransformed: his shoulder joints are not raised up.

Starscream's attempts to blend in with the Keronian society.
  • Starscream Keroro Ver. (Legends, 2012)
This green and yellow redeco of Movie Legends Class Starscream was available free with the December 2011 edition of Kerokero Ace magazine, in which the "Keroro Gunsō × Transformers" comic was published. He came in a cardboard box attached to the magazine with a rubber band, which also contained the magazine's other free gift, a game mat for the Battle Spirits card game. Though identified as "Starscream Keroro Ver." on the box, which makes it sound like the toy is of Starscream himself, the figure is called "Keroroscream" in various places in the magazine itself, reflecting the events of the comic strip, in which it's a transformed Keroro.
In lieu of paint—save for his two red optics and golden cockpit—Keroroscream comes with a large sheet of stickers (bound inside the magazine), which allows buyers to kit him out with one of three optional decos: one set features a red and black "hotrod" flame design; a second offers fanservice-y shots of the female members of the Keroro Gunsō cast in swimsuits; and a third featuring Keroro's fellow platoon members, with Keroro's distinctive winking eyes on the figure's chest. The third set lacks dedicated stickers for the figure's wings; in their place, a blank set of wing stickers is included that buyers could draw their own designs on as part of a contest to win Dark of the Moon toys. Of course, if you want, you can mix and match these three sets to your heart's content.

Deluxe Class toys

I brought a knife to a shrink ray fight.
  • Starscream (MechTech Deluxe, 2011)
    • Japanese ID number: DD02
    • Accessories: 2 MechTech Null Ray Cannons/Swords
Part of the first wave of Dark of the Moon Deluxes, Starscream transforms into a licensed F-22 Raptor. His incredibly flexible arms have joints at the shoulder, in the middle of the upper arm, elbow, and wrist, allowing them to neatly fold up for transformation, as well as scratch his own back. In a neat touch, his robot-mode thrusters have been sculpted into his back panel.
He comes with two MechTech weapons, with one weapon being static and the other being functional. Both weapons are double-sided, featuring a "Null-ray cannon" barrel on one side and a "sword" on the other. Pushing forward the scope on the functional weapon will cause the sword weapon to extend, increasing its reach. The peg and cannon barrel on the static weapon correspond to the peg-hole and the hole of the scope of the functional weapon, meaning his null rays can combine to form a double bladed weapon that's way taller than he is. This means that he is one of the few Deluxe Class figures to have a MechTech weapon that can remain locked in both modes, which is awesome. Aside from the 5mm posts on the side of either weapon, the Null-ray barrels at their tips are actually 5mm wide, enabling other figures to wield each weapon normally.
There are a grand total of 6 MechTech holes, with two under the wings, two under the rear stabilizers, and two on Starscream's forearms. The two under the tail allow the weapons to be stored on the robot mode's back.
This mold was later redecoed into Thundercracker, Skywarp and Movie Advanced Starscream found further down in this page. His MechTech weapons were retooled into Darksteel's weapons. He would've been also redecoed as a Hasbro version of Skywarp that never came to be.

I'm bleeding on the inside.
  • Starscream (Voyager, June 23, 2011)
    • Accessories: 2 projectiles
A Target-exclusive redeco of Revenge of the Fallen Starscream, he is now grey with red detailing and more subdued, silver tattoos. Early assortments had the red parts cast in solid plastic (pictured to the right), but a running change shortly thereafter corrected this, and replaced all the red parts with translucent plastic.
He comes packed with a comic book by IDW Publishing, Transformers: Starscream.

Robo Power

Activators

(thumbnail)
i wanna play leader i wanna play leader waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  • Starscream (2011)
Released as part of the Robo Power series of Activators, Starscream features a simple transform that is activated by pushing on the red "thrusters" located in the back of his fighter jet mode; pushing it a second time will cause him to revert back to aircraft mode. Unlike some of the other figures in this series, Starscream boasts not only shoulder articulation but also elbow articulation. Owing to the kid-friendly nature of the toy, the nosecone halves are made of a soft material.
Starscream came packaged in a box that was open, but with twist ties and a plastic tray in place to keep him from being transformed.

Bash Bots
TF-DOTM-Bash-Bots-Starscream.jpg
  • Optimus Prime Vs Starscream (2011)
Bash Bots Starscream is a small, rock-em-sock-em-styled toy that transforms from a super-deformed fighter jet into a robot by pulling or pushing the lever below its built-in stand. He & his stand can connect with any Bash Bots to fight with, especially the included Optimus Prime.

Robo Fighters
(thumbnail)
He may be small, but he knows a good source.
  • Starscream (2011)
This version of Starscream doesn't transform, instead having a gimmick where if you slide down the button on his chest, it activates his "attack mode", wherein his chest opens up and his wings swing upward, revealing weapons. His only articulation consists of swivel joints in his shoulders and neck.

Generations

(thumbnail)
(I am) Starscream(, leader of the) Decepticons(!)
  • Starscream (Leader Class, 2012)
    • Accessories: Cannon, 2 Homing missiles
Generations Starscream is a redeco of the 2010 Transformers Leader Class Starscream sporting a new color scheme that homages Generation 1 Starscream. He uses the international version of the soundchip.
Starscream was initially available at general retail in China and other Asian Hasbro markets in English-only Generations packaging as part of the Global Development Organization ("GDO") line-up. He was later made available by Hasbro in Canada as a Toys"R"Us exclusive... in bilingual English/Chinese Dark of the Moon packaging with additional Movie Trilogy Series labels.

Movie Advanced Series

Takaratomy-movie-advanced-ad-10-starscream.jpg
  • Starscream (Deluxe, 2014)
    • Japanese ID number: AD10
    • Accessories: 2 Battle Axes
Movie Advanced Starscream is a redeco of the deluxe class Dark of the Moon Starscream without tattoos, making him look similar to his appearance in the first movie.
He includes two ornate axes that were originally included with the simplified Deluxe version of Beast Hunters Smokescreen, but since he lacks fists with 5mm holes they end up relegated to pegging onto the sides of his arms. The axe handles' tip can also serve as "null-rays".

Construct-Bots

  • Starscream (Dinobot Rider, 2014)
    • Accessories: Blaster
Construct-Bots Dinobot Rider Starscream transforms into a jet made to resemble a Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor and comes with a tiny blaster, although he has sculpted null rays on his clip-on wings. As a Dinobot Rider, he can ride any larger Dinobot Construct-Bot.
Unfortunately, Dinobot Riders Starscream never saw release.

Movie The Best

Transformers-Movie-MB-08-Starscream.jpg
  • Starscream (Voyager Class, 2017-02-25)
    • Japanese ID Number: MB-08
    • Accessories: 2 Missiles
Released as part of TakaraTomy's Transformers Movie The Best toyline to conclude the 10th anniversary of the live-action film series, this Starscream is an extensive redeco of his Revenge of the Fallen Voyager Class Toy, featuring a deco based on his appearance in the first live-action movie.

The Last Knight

Starscream tiny turbo chargers.jpg
  • Starscream (Tiny Turbo Changer, 2017)
    • Series: 1
    • Bag Code: J
Released in Series 1 of Tiny Turbo Changers, Starscream changes from robot to an unlicensed approximation of a Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor with the glyphs first seen in Revenge of The Fallen. He has ball-jointed shoulders and his hands are compatible with Cyberverse weapons and other small accessories. Baggies stamped with the letter 'J' contain Starscream figures.

Sky Camo Starscream tiny turbo chargers.jpg
  • Sky Camo Starscream (Tiny Turbo Changer, 2017)
    • Series: 2
    • Bag Code: J
Released in Series 2 of Tiny Turbo Changers, Sky Camo Starscream is a straight redeco of the Series 1 that amusingly looks like Thundercracker, specifically with the detailing seen on his Transformers Voyager Class figure. Like the Series 1 figure, his baggie is stamped with a small J near the transparent window on the back.

Studio Series

(thumbnail)
He's a clean boy again.
  • Starscream (Voyager Class, 2018)
    • Movie: Transformers
    • Hasbro ID number: 06
    • TakaraTomy ID number: SS-06
    • TakaraTomy release date: April 28, 2018
    • Accessories: Missile Launcher, "Mission City Battle" backdrop, sawblade
Studio Series Starscream transforms into a licensed Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor, borrowing most of its engineering from the Dark of the Moon Deluxe mold, up-scaled to Voyager size with more screen-accurate sculpting. As such, he has 5mm peg holes in the same spots and retains the sculpted-in thrusters on his back. There are two major changes added during the up-scaling process—an extra peg hole in the middle of his robot mode back to store his weapon, and extra chest panels that fold away under his wings. As Studio Series prioritizes scale, Starscream stands taller than his Voyager wavemate Optimus Prime. He sports a light gray-and-blue deco instead of accurate darker metallic grays, and his entire eye cavities are painted instead of just his pupils, including going over his eyelids.
He comes with a non-firing missile launcher/claw that can be mounted onto his wrists by folding back his hands. It can store on the numerous peg holes in both modes or on the special tabs at the rear of his jet mode. He also comes with a cardboard backdrop depicting the battle of Mission City.
The correct way to orient his arms is with the peg holes facing forward as seen on the CG renders (and accurate to the movie CGI model), but this makes his arm articulation rather awkward. Most people use leave his arms facing the other way for better elbows, even the stock photographers!
The initial sample displayed at a Chinese fan event[5] and one of the final-product Hasbro stock photos both depict him having a sawblade accessory that is not included with the released figure. The sawblade was later included (in place of the missile launcher accessory) with the Revenge of the Fallen-inspired redeco of the figure below. Some stock photos use a sample with a dark gray trim in jet mode instead of the final toy's cream-white.
There exists a near-exact knockoff of this figure, even replicating the packaging, with the most identifiable difference being the use of a G1 Decepticon insignia (triangular eyes) on the wing instead of the live-action insignia (diamond eyes).[6]

(thumbnail)
Starscream is my name and sunburn is my game!
  • Starscream (Voyager Class, 2018)
    • Movie: Revenge of the Fallen
    • Hasbro ID number: 21
    • TakaraTomy ID number: SS-18
    • TakaraTomy release date: October 27, 2018
    • Accessories: Sawblade, "Forest Fight" backdrop (2nd version)
A redeco of the figure above, this Starscream features his tattooed look, though the deco is based on his Transformers (2010) Leader Class toy instead the the screen-accurate tattoos. The white tattoos are missing, along with the ones on his arms, crotch, right thigh, and lower legs. He also uses a predominantly tan, brown, and black color scheme similar to the Dark of the Moon Deluxe as opposed to more screen-accurate dark metallic grays. His eyes are still overpainted, though the eyelids have been spared. A Decepticon insignia is added to his forehead, which was missing on the previous version.
The figure includes the sawblade accessory that is seen in the stock photos (but not featured in the final product) of the SS-06 figure. It can be mounted onto his wrists by folding back his hands and can store on the numerous peg holes in both modes or on the special tabs at the rear of his jet mode. He also comes with a cardboard backdrop display depicting the forest battle from Revenge of the Fallen.
Oddly, the side of his right leg is left unpainted, despite the instructions and stock CG render of the alternate mode showing the tattoo deco covering that section. Even more oddly, the CG render of the robot mode is missing that tampograph as well. The instructions also lack the tampograph on the front of his left thigh.
The figure was released online by Hasbro Pulse well before its brick and mortar release.
Like its predecessor, near-exact knockoff of this figure exists, using G1 Decepticon insignias and notably missing the black paint on his upper lip.[7]

This is how trailer-only Cybertronian Blitzwing can still win:
  • Starscream (Voyager Class, 2021)
    • Movie: Bumblebee
    • Hasbro ID number: 72
    • TakaraTomy ID number: SS-67
    • TakaraTomy release date: July 31, 2021
    • Accessories: arm cannon, 2 Null Rays, "Cybertron Falls" backdrop (1st version)
This version of Studio Series Starscream is based on his appearance in Bumblebee and transforms from robot to Cybertronian tetrajet in 31 steps. Despite looking very similar to Studio Series Blitzwing, Starscream is a new mold. He comes with a handheld cannon, two wing-mounted Null Rays evocative of his Generation 1 namesake, and a cardboard backdrop display depicting a war-torn Cybertron as it appears in the beginning of the film. The cannon has no robot mode storage but forms the underslung weaponry in vehicle mode. The Null Rays are meant to be moved to rectangular slots in vehicle mode, though they can be left in the 5mm ports.
His instructions show his arms tabbing together in vehicle mode; however, the tabs they're using don't actually exist on the figure proper. Weird.
The toy was officially unveiled by the owner of the Ozformers fan group on November 5, 2020. The copy used for the reveal painted the eyes under his molded eyes, making it seem like his actual eyes were large eyebrows. The Hasbro Pulse description incorrectly mixes in parts of the Studio Series 86 toys' description, as well as multiple mentions to the toy's Null Rays, but not his primary cannon.
This figure was retooled into Thrust, redecoed with Thrust's headsculpt into Thundercracker, and further retooled into Skywarp.

  • Transformers 15th Anniversary Decepticon Multipack (Multi-pack, 2023)
    • Movie: Transformers
    • ID number: 06
    • Accessories: Missile Launcher, "Decepticon AllSpark Hunt" reversible backdrop
"15th Anniversary" Starscream is a re-release of the original SS-06 Starscream above with minor paint differences: the insignias on his wings are larger and his light blue fade is much less subtle. He comes with his missile launcher.
This figure comes in an Amazon exclusive 4-pack alongside Studio Series Megatron, Blackout/Scorponok, and Barricade, released to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the first live-action Transformers film (though it was released after the 16th anniversary). The pack comes with a unique reversible backdrop depicting Hoover Dam on one side and battle of Mission City on the other. Notably, fellow Decepticons Bonecrusher, Brawl, and Frenzy are absent from this team pack.

Studio-Series-MV6-Core-Starscream.jpg
  • Starscream (Core Class, 2024)
    • Movie: Bumblebee
    • TakaraTomy ID number: SS-128
    • Accessories: arm cannon blaster
Based on his appearance in Bumblebee, Core Class Starscream transforms into Cybertronian tetrajet and includes a small blast effect-compatible blaster, which can store on his back and forms his vehicle mode's weapon. Likely due to the figure's small size, he is missing the wing-mounted Null Rays. Starscream only has a Decepticon insignia on his left wing. His cardboard insert is decorated with the first version of the "Cybertron Falls" backdrop.
Starscream was revealed by TakaraTomy in March 2024, corresponding with Hasbro's second wave of Studio Series product for the year, with several Amazon listings popping up afterwards but unavailable to order. He was instead moved to the fourth wave and was finally announced by Hasbro on July 26 at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, with pre-orders going live on July 30.

  • Sky Rage Starscream (Tiny Turbo Changer, 2018)
    • Series: 3

Released in Series 3 of Tiny Turbo Changers, Sky Rage Starscream is a red redeco of the Series 1 figure.
The final product omits the detailing on the wings.

(thumbnail)
...Starwing? Blitzscream? Look, I'm running out of names here.
  • Starscream (Nitro Series, 2023)
Autobots Unite Nitro Series Starscream is a redeco of Bumblebee Nitro Series Blitzwing, a Voyager-sized mold that transforms from robot into a jet plane that is not the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II. He also comes with his own Igniter Core, which allows his jet mode to zip along smooth surfaces.
This figure's box reuses the render from Studio Series Bumblebee Starscream.
Yes, this version of the figure still retains the head swapping gimmick Blitzwing had.
Starscream was released as a Carrefour store exclusive in Spain.
In an rather creepy painting error (which is sliiiiiightly visible in the promotional shot here) the red paint application from Starscream's right eye bleeds down his cheek and into his mouth. Unicron got to him, I guess.

  • Starscream ("Pocket Transformers" toy prize, 2007)
Free inside specially marked boxes of Oscar Meyer Lunchables dinners, Starscream is one of six "Pocket Transformers" toy prizes. Molded in green, his tablet unfolds to reveal a picture of his robot mode inside. His name is also spelled out across his feet in this mode.
This mold was also used to create the lunchables figure for Blackout and Megatron. A similar mold was used to create the Lunchables figure for Optimus, Ironhide and Bumblebee, though with the Autobot symbol sculpted in instead of the Decepticon one. Each iteration of this mold was made with a different color of plastic.
The Lunchables website code engraved on his back is "MISLEAD."

Burger King

🎶~Don't go breaking my heart~🎶
  • Starscream (Burger King free toy, 2007)
A non-transformable version of Starscream, cast primarily in chalk-grey plastic. It can rotate its arms at the shoulder. The toy's main gimmick, though, is the wheel in his chest. Striking the wheel causes it to advance to the next slot, revealing damage to Starscream's torso. A second tap reveals even more damage. Despite being a free pack-in toy, the figure is surprisingly well molded, having well defined head parts and the twin afterburners on his back that even the Voyager version lacks. It even has six fingers (or rather, four fingers and two thumbs) on each hand!

(thumbnail)
My head feels like it's about to blow
  • Flip-Out Bumblebee (2011)
Part of the 2011 Burger King Dark of the Moon promotion, Starscream is a simple figure with bobble-head-like proportions, but is otherwise reasonably accurate to his on-screen appearance. Unlike other toys in this promotion, Starscream features an automatic transformation triggered by a lever on his back, raising his enormous head and revealing his body. He is reset by manually pushing down on his head.

Robot Heroes

(thumbnail)
Packaged with Bumblebee holding the Allspark. TWICE.
  • Armor Bumblebee & Starscream (Two-pack, 2007)
Robot Heroes Starscream is sculpted in a crouching pose, possibly inspired by his landing when talking to Megatron in the film. He has the standard Robot Heroes articulation of both shoulders and his neck, however the pre-posed nature means his right arm is really more useful as a support than a usable joint. He was packaged with Armor Bumblebee.

(thumbnail)
It's my turn to use the Rubik's Cube, Bumblebee!
  • Allspark Bumblebee & Starscream (Two-pack, 2008)
This version of Starscream is almost a prelude to the previous one, as he's now sculpted in a touching down pose as opposed to a full land. Like the previous mold, it has articulation at the shoulders and neck. Unfortunately, the left arm is lifted straight out to the side, allowing rotation of the arm but no actual posing. He was packaged with Allspark Bumblebee.

(thumbnail)
Who's that dude?
  • Autobot Springer & Starscream (Two-pack, 2009)
Starscream is part of the first wave of Revenge of the Fallen Robot Heroes figures and is packaged versus Springer. A redeco of the first figurine, he still has articulation at the shoulders and neck, and now sports Cyberglyphics tattooed on his body.

    • Series: Battle Series
    • Number: 07 of 08
As a Robot Powered Machines "Mini-Vehicle", Starscream is a small, super-deformed F-22 with wheels underneath. His robot mode is also sculpted on the plane's underside, with his chest-canopy rather cleverly acting as a third wheel. Starscream was only initially available in a two-pack with Ironhide.

    • Number: 01 of 04
"Mini-Vehicle" Starscream is a single-packed identical release of the version released with Ironhide described above. • Series: Allspark Series
    • Number: 01 of 04
A new mold, "Allspark Series" Starscream is a non-transforming vehicle with the character's robot mode sculpted on the underside. It has more realistic F-22 proportions than the previous RPM Starscream, and has joints in its wings to fit into the packaging better.
Starscream is painted in silver, with black for his cockpit, nosecone, wings, and tail-fins. He features white-bordered purple stripes containing electrical designs on his tail-fins and wings, with Decepticon insignias on his tail-fins, as well as a large purple "shield" with electricity emanating from the Decepticon insignia in the center located on his fuselage. His robot mode is completely silver except for his red eyes. Amusingly, his vehicle uses Generation 1 Decepticon insignias!
So far, this has only been released in Asia, in countries like the Philippines.

Part of the third and final wave of deluxe Stealth Force toys, Starscream is a roughly Voyager-sized toy that does not transform into a robot, but does change from a fully licensed Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor into an attack mode that is chock full of pop out weapons. His transformation is totally automatic and button-activated. He can fire one spring loaded projectile from each side of his fuselage.
He is the only non-land based Stealth Force toy and features a unique package size due to his width. Along with all tail end Stealth Force toys, his release was scanty at best.

He also features a light-up gimmick for the thruster units, which requires an LED unit (Unit B is recommended) included in the "Light-Up Unit for F-15 Series 2-pack" add-on accessory (sold separately). While the parts seem to have snap-fit assembly, the kit requires a hobby cement (a modelling glue) to keep the assembly stable, with the exception of the LED unit.
The model kit also comes with a non-transforming Bumblebee car.

  • The earlier head design of his protoform toy is featured on (what else?) his protoform body in IDW's movie prequel comics. It's since become Starscream's standard "pre-Earth" face, likely out of consistency.
