Ryu

- Ryu is a human from Street Fighter.
Ryu (リュウ Ryū) is a Japanese martial artist who seeks to become a true fighter. He uses a fighting style primarily derived from Ansatsuken, the assassination arts, but incorporating techniques from various other fighting styles. Alongside his best friend and sparring partner Ken Masters, he has learned to channel his inner energy and uses it to enhance his attacks in battle. His signature techniques include the Hadōken, an energy projectile fired from his palms; the Shōryūken, a jumping uppercut; and the Tatsumaki Senpūkyaku, a midair kick that spins him like a tornado.

Street Fighter II x Transformers toy bios
Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li were in the midst of a battle with M. Bison in Thailand. When they were about to defeat him, a dimensional gate was opened and Megatron emerged. The three were caught off guard, allowing Bison enough time to share his power with Megatron before the two escaped. Optimus Prime, Hot Rod, and Arcee also emerged from the gate and asked for the three fighters' help in stopping Megatron. They agreed, and Optimus chose to scan Ryu, learning his fighting techniques. Through Ryu's teaching, Optimus learned to use his own abilities to enhance his attacks, such as channeling his own energon into the Hadōken and using the thrusters of his jet mode to increase his Shōryūken's power. Street Fighter II × Transformers

- Available as part of the exclusive Street Fighter II × Transformers toyline, Convoy is a redeco of Titans Return Voyager Class Optimus Prime in Ryu's traditional colors, flesh tones and all. His vehicle modes are both adorned with the "fūrinkazan" kanji from Ryu's belt: 風林火山 ("as fast as the wind, as quiet as the forest, as daring as fire, and immovable as the mountain"). He transforms from robot to tanker truck to plane and back. Both vehicle modes have "cockpit" areas to seat any Titan Master (or compatible) figure. Like all Titans Return Voyager class figures, he has built-in mechanisms to "bulk up" his noggin. In his case, these are spring-loaded pylons. The smaller Headmaster's robot mode is also painted to resemble Ryu.
- Convoy was only available in a two-pack with Megatron [Vega]. This set was available for pre-order on TakaraTomy Mall from November 22 to 27, 2017, with orders fulfilled in late May 2018. A pre-order goal was also set: the first 3000 pre-ordered units would include a free clear display stand.
- This two-pack was later brought to the West in 2022 as part of the Transformers Collaborative line, released as a Target and Hasbro Pulse exclusive in the United States. These releases are functionally identical to the Takara versions; the Hasbro versions have new manufacturing tampographs, but are otherwise the same. They even have all of the Takara packaging inside the new Hasbro outer packaging!

Notes
- In its original packaging, the Convoy [Ryu] toy is posed performing a Hadōken.
- Ryu has been voiced by a handful of Transformers alumni, including Katashi Ishizuka, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Wataru Takagi, Masashi Ebara, Shinichirō Miki, Taketora, and currently, Hiroki Takahashi.
