PDTF Comic (P·D·T·F コミック, PD being short for "Parody Deformed") is a series of Japanese mini-comics, interviews, and character files illustrated by Hidetsugu Yoshioka with the overall story created by Toyohiro Andō based on "super deformed" miniature Transformers characters.[1] The series came bundled with Kabaya's PD Transformers model kits in 1990. Yoshioka produced a total of 24 mini-comics. The character files ranged from history to humorous "articles" about the characters.

Storyline

The PDTF storyline pays no attention to continuity or logic; think of it as "Transformers meets Looney Tunes". Characters from various Transformers franchises, including Super Robot Life, 2010, Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce and Victory, coexist with one another even when it makes no sense (Megatron switches back and forth from his Galvatron form wherever convenient).

The basic premise was that the Decepticons were after a new super-energy source known as the "Black ball", a black orb of untold power. The Autobots struggle to keep them from obtaining it, typically with hilarious results.

Comics

#1 "You're Great! Optimus Prime!"

Megatron has Optimus Prime on the ropes and his victory seems assured. Prime turns the tide of battle, however, when he launches the Matrix from his chest, bonking Megatron on the head.

#2 "He's Here! Victory Saber!!"

Arriving in the nick of time, Victory Leo combines with Star Saber to form Victory Saber. Victory Saber attempts to deliver a mighty speech, only to be consistently thwarted by a strange growling noise (much to Liokaiser's confusion). Victory Saber at last has enough and yells at the Victory Leo head on his back to be quiet.

#3 "Don't Cry! Megatron!!"

Starscream approaches Megatron, revealing that he's found the Blackball. Megatron is pleased until he notices a lit fuse extending from it. As the pair are blown up, Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus are astounded that their plan actually worked. In the aftermath of the explosion, a frustrated Megatron angrily strangles his second in command.

#4 "Good Job! Deathsaurus!!"

In the midst of battle, Ultra Magnus declares that the Autobots are out of ammo. Optimus Prime tells him to improvise and everyone starts hurling rocks and debris at Deathsaurus. By mistake, they accidentally throw the Blackball at him. Recovering it, Deathsaurus begins to ponder his conquest of space as rocks and trash shower down on him. At last overcome with irritation, he throws the Blackball at the annoying Autobots...a move he regrets.

#5 "Don't Lose! Star Saber!!"

As Star Saber faces off with Deathsaurus, his foe calls in his trump card: Liokaiser. Star Saber attempts to pacify the kitty-headed Decepticon with some tuna, only to be chased off. Hiding behind a rock, Saber calls Victory Leo for reinforcements.

#6 "Tough as Nails! Victory Leo!"

Transforming to lion mode, Victory Leo effortlessly defeats Megatron, Deathsaurus and pretty much all the other Decepticons. Megatron blasts a strange object out of his fusion cannon at Victory Leo. That object turns out to be yarn. As Victory Leo plays with it, the Decepticons sneak away in retreat.

#7 "Fight! Super Ginrai!"

During a showdown between Super Ginrai and Overlord, Ginrai focuses his Chōkon Power. As he raises his hands to the sky to channel his Tenchōkon he is suddenly struck by lightning. Overlord remarks that the weather is looking a little iffy.

#8 "Me Strongest! Me Grimlock!"

Star Saber orders Grimlock to remain as his secondary line of defense as he battles Deathsaurus. Grimlock watches the two fight, gradually becoming bored. Eventually, Deathsaurus plummets to the ground, where Grimlock cleverly eats his head.

#9 "Oh, Overlord."

Sitting out in a field, watching the sky, Overlord begins to wonder what he's doing with his life. He decides he needs a day to reflect. His reflection is interrupted by Megatron, who reminds him that he's in the middle of a battle. Overlord reluctantly gets to his feet and returns to the fight.

#10 "Good Luck! Starscream!!"

On the battlefield, Starscream stumbles across another Blackball. He considers giving it to Megatron, but quickly decides to keep it and use its power to become the new Decepticon leader. As he laughs maniacally, the Blackball explodes, having been another decoy made by the Autobots. Off in the distance, Megatron watches the explosion and wonders what's going on.

#11 "Take a Stand! Rodimus Prime!"

Galvatron, wearing a necklace made from four Blackballs, confronts Rodimus Prime and demands he turn over the fifth Blackball. Galvatron has Rodimus by the throat, only to be distracted by a bright light coming from his foe's chest. Fearing a repeat of their battle from "The Transformers: The Movie", Galvatron runs away from "the power of the Matrix". Rodimus reveals that the light was coming from a flashlight and sighs at Galvatron's stupidity.

#12 "Bigger than Life! Fortress Maximus!"

As Galvatron and his forces attack the Battleship Maximus, Fortress combines with it to become Fortress Maximus. Unfortunately, he forgot that Battleship Maximus doubles as a city; all its inhabitants freaking out at the "earthquake" and falling out from various creases in his body.

#13 "Now! Deliver the Finishing Blow! God Ginrai!!"

To the fright of all the Decepticons, God Ginrai announces he's going to perform the most powerful attack in the universe. He performs his "Chōkon Fire Guts" attack, sweeping through his enemies. Ultra Magnus remarks that it was just a normal punch, but Ginrai silences him, insisting that the melodramatically wailing and flailing Decepticons don't need to know that.

#14 "Watch Out! MegaZarak!"

Fortress Maximus and MegaZarak engage in battle, throwing one another to the ground. Unfortunately, since they're both so tremendously huge, they crush all their fellow soldiers in the process. Both Autobot and Decepticon alike scurry to escape the falling giants.

#15 "No One Knows When He's Come or Gone. Greatshot..."

During every Autobot victory, hiding off in the shadows and in the corners, is the ninja: Greatshot. Greatshot remarks that he hides more out of desperation than anything cool or poetic.

#16 "Improve Yourself! Ultra Magnus!"

Galvatron demands Ultra Magnus turn over the final Blackball. When Ultra Magnus refuses, Galvatron blasts him into several pieces and claims the prize. Before he can gloat, however, Ultra Magnus stands up and hurls his severed head at Galvatron, knocking him over like a set of bowling pins.

#17 "So Fast! Road Caesar!!"
