Notes
- "One-box design", of which the Nissan Vanette is a quintessential example, is a car style which lacks separately defined areas for the engine and trunk, as opposed to the more common two- and three-box designs (e.g. station wagons and sedans, respectively) .
- In the first issue of the Marvel comic, there is a gun platform on the Ark that strongly resembles this component.
- This component is absent in Ironhide and Ratchet's character models, where the robot transforms directly into the whole vehicle. The robot mode itself was extensively redesigned, giving these characters a very low degree of toy-accuracy.
- This component is not mentioned in the text of the characters' bios, Universe profiles, or More than Meets the Eye profiles, but it is included in the artwork.
- Other Ironhide and Ratchet toys have been produced that do not include this component. Notably, the Masterpiece toys incorporate the entire vehicle into the robot mode, but each toy comes with an accessory storage tray that resembles the original component.
