Mnemopathis projector

One of the many technological wonders of the Junkions, the mnemopathis projector allows Transformers to enter the mind of one of their fellows and experience a virtual reality simulation. In spite of this, it requires very little to function merely needing the other bots to don special visors and a wired uplink between the Transformers.

That said, it's not perfect as the stories it weaves may become recursive on a small scale.

2005 IDW continuity

After Wreck-Gar had failed to repair the positron core, the Autobots decided to humanely put the comatose Sideswipe out of his misery. To allow him to die happy, Sunstreaker and Arcee hooked themselves up to Sideswipe via the mnemopathis projector to speak to him in the fantasy.

After attacking simulated Decepticons however, Sideswipe began having suspicions regarding Arcee and Sunstreaker's behaviour. Upon seeing the shining post-War Cybertron, their words made him realize the truth about his situation. Thanking both his friend and brother, he died peacefully.
