Hammerstrike (RID)
From Transformers Wiki
The name or term "Hammerstrike" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Hammerstrike (disambiguation). |
- Hammerstrike is a Decepticon-allied Sharkticon from the Robots in Disguise portion of the Aligned continuity family.
Once Cybertron's most feared pirate, Hammerstrike the Sharkticon harbors a deep contempt for anything above the waves. Pretty much everything about dry land offends him, and being forced to even set foot on it is a grievous insult. He'll suffer it to further his plans, but he'll complain about having the stink of land-dweller on him the whole time.
Naturally, in the water (or any viscous liquid), he's an absolute terror. Incredibly fast and agile, he strikes his targets quick and hard in submarine mode. Despite his hatred of land-based combat, he's an effective fighter on his feet as well, especially if there's some kind of slippery fluid on the ground that lets him slide around while his opponents struggle for balance.

2015 Robots in Disguise cartoon

After the Alchemor crashed on Earth, Hammerstrike was freed from his stasis pod and took to the new planet's waterways. Intending to turn the sea into something approximating home, he attacked the oil tanker Windward. Bumblebee and Grimlock came to the stricken tanker's aid. Grimlock attempted to take on Hammerstrike in the water, which turned out pretty bad for the Dinobot as he couldn't swim. Bumblebee was barely able to get the upper hand, but the arrival of the Coast Guard provided a distraction, and Hammerstrike escaped.
Unwilling to give up, Hammerstrike went to a nearby oil refinery, hoping to release a massive oil spill. Bumblebee and Grimlock turned up there too, leading to a fight that coated the floor of the complex with oil. Though Hammerstrike was able to skate effortlessly on the slippery surface, some quick teamwork from his opponents got the Sharkticon pushed into a massive oil drum. After a good solid punch from Grimlock, the mighty pirate was then dumped into a stasis pod. Trust Exercises
Hammerstrike's stasis pod was later taken back to Cybertron by Optimus Prime, Windblade, and Ratchet. Decepticon Island (Part 2)
Toys
Kre-O
- Sideswipe Roadway Rundown (2015)
- Set number: B1548
- Pieces: 98
- Kreons: Hammerstrike, Sideswipe
- Kreon Hammerstrike was available only with the "Sideswipe Roadway Rundown" set (despite the two characters having never interacted in the show). His fin/tail assembly needs to be removed in order to get him inside the included stasis cell. You also need to fold the legs in a little, since his shark-nose is just a hair too tall for the container if he's standing straight.
- All of the 2015 Transformers Kre-O product was skipped by retailers in the US (at first), seeing release in Canada, Australia, and various Asian markets. In fall 2015, almost all of it was finally released in the US through TJ Maxx discount stores, including this set. However, this and the "Strongarm Capture Cruiser" set were considerably harder to find than the others.
