The Cataclysm, the source of which lay in Primax 207.0 Epsilon, threatened to end Gargent 984.08 Alpha. The universe-ending crisis brought old enemies together, and they sent a team via Dimensional Interfacer to the offending universe. Unfortunately, the transport malfunctioned, and the team had to be pulled out of transwarp by the Transcendent Technomorphs of Nexus 208.0 Epsilon. Granted an audience with the High Senate of this universe's Cybertron, the GoBot team explained their dilemma, but not only did the TransTechs deny the request for help, the TransTechs refused to allow the GoBots to go home. Instead, the GoBots were allowed to live out their lives in Axiom Nexus. Bug Bite then split off, managing on his own to evade the TransTechs and escape Axiom Nexus. Meanwhile, the other team members got entangled with local criminals as well the TransTech authorities, but this ultimately resulted in them getting free passes out of Axiom Nexus. Withered Hope

Gargent 984.08 Alpha was adversely affected in some way by Primax 207.0 Epsilon, but the latter universe's destruction allowed the Gargent universe to begin repairing itself. Ask Vector Prime, The Complete AllSpark Almanac

Thousands of years in the past, this Gargent reality's version of Megatronus ("the Evil One") almost destroyed Gobotron before being trapped on Earth. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/05/30
Lio Convoy travelled from Primax 498.1 Alpha, stopping at Gargent 984.08 Alpha before going to Nexus 208.0 Epsilon and later a Uniend universe. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/05/14
Some refugees fleeing the Cataclysm traveled to Primax 215.19 Epsilon and blended in with the Predacons of that reality. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/05/14
The news that Predaking had an organic-looking brain was of deep concern to Vector Prime, as it may have meant the Violent Chigger had access to GoBot tech and that would mean Gargent 984.08 Alpha's infiltration of other realities was highly advanced. The Chronarchitect was to be consulted. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/06/02
Vector Prime noted that in contrast to the Puzzler of Gargent 1184.10 Gamma, the Puzzler of Gargent 984.08 Alpha was a sparkless drone. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/07/15
Vector Prime also noted that despite the end of the Cataclysm, whether or not Gargent 984.08 Alpha would become completely safe to inhabit once more remained in question. He sensed that this question would be resolved in the near future. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/05/14 Vector Prime also noted the great similarity between this universe and Gargent 1084.29 Alpha, rating less than a one on the Turtler D.O.V.E. scale (possibly due to some name differences). He also noted a curious instability in the axial tilt of this stream. They might want to look into that. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/11/08
Notes
- Gargent 984.08 Alpha is the universal stream designation corresponding to the Challenge of the GoBots cartoon. Its specifications are taken from when the first episode, "Battle for GoBotron", first aired.
- In the episode "Invasion from the 21st Level", the GoBots' home reality was called "Level 1". This is maintained in "Withered Hope" when they call the targeted Transformer reality "Level 22".
- Gargent 984.08 Alpha is not the only stream that corresponds to the Challenge of the GoBots cartoon. Gargent 1084.29 Alpha, with an alternate start date taken from Wikipedia, seems to be another one. As Ask Vector Prime has acknowledged the existence of both streams and their similarities, is unknown at this time for what reason, aside from the different start dates, this reality warrants two streams.
- As Fun Publications has developed a general policy of not touching the universal streams of actual major Transformers (or in this case, GoBots) media, the additional identification of 1084.29 Alpha may be an attempt at backtracking on threatening a major fiction's universe with destruction. This relegates Gargent 984.08 Alpha to strictly being the "Withered Hope" spin-off timeline.
- In December 2016, Jim Sorenson referred to this stream as "a mix of toy and cartoon". [1]
