Clobber's existence proves that being a Decepticon doesn't necessarily make you a bad person. Sure, she's a huge, intimidating bruiser, capable of withstanding tremendous damage and retaliating with devastating punches when she's not using her hovertank mode to simply roll over the enemy, but this power isn't backed up by any actual malice—her easygoing personality might explain why she sits somewhere on the lowest rank of the Decepticon hierarchy with her best friend Lockdown, and the pair spend most of their downtime discussing their unlucky lot in life.

Although she's sweet, well-meaning, and earnest to a fault, if there's one thing Clobber doesn't have, it's an ability to think for herself: more often than not, she'll simply fall in line behind whoever's barking orders. This might be the only trait holding her back from discovering her full potential, but it would take something truly earth-shattering to push her out of her comfort zone.

At some point in the past, Clobber was experimented on by Shockwave. The Dead End At Maccadam’s, Clobber was present when Soundwave defeated Soundblaster in a beatboxing match, one of Soundwave’s blasts sent her drink flying right into her face. The Immobilizers One of the many Decepticons who arrived on Earth aboard the Nemesis following the reactivation of Optimus Prime and his Autobot crew, Clobber joined the Decepticons present for Megatron's eulogy for Starscream.

Clobberella beats you up.

During a subsequent battle between the Decepticons to claim Optimus Prime's head, Clobber found herself forcibly drafted Soundwave into blowing up Shockwave's laboratory. She and Lockdown, who had been placed in a similar situation, were subsequently drafted into Shadow Striker's own plot as bait. The two went outside to lament their unfair lot, only to encounter an unexpected windfall when the Autobot Hot Rod appeared from a GroundBridge. Acting quickly, they captured the Autobot and brought him to Megatron, who decided to use him as a bargaining chip. Unfortunately for them, Hot Rod broke free of his restraints, and their attempts to recapture him inadvertently foiled Shadow Striker's own, allowing the fugitive to escape. "Well, Lockdown, looks like it’s your turn to teach them a lesson."

Clobber was one of the Decepticons present after Megatron announced that they had found the AllSpark on Earth and cheered for their leader. Trials The Decepticons ultimately claimed the artifact. When Hot Rod, Bumblebee, and Cheetor broke into the Nemesis, Clobber and Lockdown attempted to stop the Autobots were overpowered and quickly sent fleeing. Dark Birth Although the Decepticons believed Starscream dead, the treacherous flier soon resurfaced and seized the AllSpark with a cadre of Decepticons. While Megatron's Decepticons negotiated a truce, Clobber and Lockdown stuck to the sidelines. When talks broke down, the pair were tackled and taken out by Rack'n'Ruin, who they had insulted earlier. Parley

When Starscream made his own power play with an army of Scraplets, Clobber was one of the many Decepticons drained of energon and paralyzed by the creatures, only to be later restored by a burst of AllSpark energy. Starscream's Children During his escape from the Nemesis, Wheeljack slipped past Clobber and Lockdown, who were complaining about the unsanitary conditions aboard their ship. Secret Science

Clobber took part in an attempt to take down the AllSpark-empowered Starscream, but, like the other Autobots and Decepticons, was paralyzed and nearly had her spark extracted by Starscream before Optimus was able to use the Matrix of Leadership to blast the artifact free from Starscream's systems. The Decepticons were nearly overwhelmed by the feral Scraplets until Shockwave intervened. With the chamber about to collapse, the Decepticons were forced to relinquish both Starscream and the AllSpark to the Autobots and retreat. I Am The Allspark

Clobber returned to Cybertron along with the other Decepticons and joined in a chant of "Destroy them! Destroy them!" when Megatron successfully lured the unsuspecting Autobots back to Cybertron, where she and the other Decepticons secretly lay in wait. The Crossroads When the Autobots bailed the Ark before it was destroyed by Shockwave, Clobber took part in the subsequent battle against the Autobots, during which she battled Rack'n'Ruin before she was knocked flat by Ratchet's force field. Battle For Cybertron II

After the Great War ended in the Autobots' favor, Clobber was among the Transformers captured by the Quintessons and placed in a simulation loop. She was eventually freeded by Hot Rod, who told her to transform. With nowhere else to go, Clobber fell in with Hot Rod and Perceptor. During one reconnaissance mission, Clobber was nearly caught by Prosecutors and misunderstood Hot Rod's directions to knock over a building, nearly getting them both captured before the pair returned to base. The Loop

During a second attempt to liberate more Cybertronians, Clobber entered the Decepticon side of the Loop and attempted to free Lockdown, but was unable to convince him to transform and break the simulation before time ran out. However, her actions unwittingly inspired Dead End to transform. While investigating one of Shockwave's old labs, Clobber and Hot Rod were approached by the newly-freed robot. Unfortunately, Dead End had also attracted the attentions of a Quintesson patrol. They and Perceptor were only just able to escape to Maccadam's bar after Clobber used her strength to help clear an entrance. The Dead End

When Hot Rod slipped off on his own to try and free Optimus Prime, Clobber was the one who had to rescue him, punching the Quintessons away. Although Hot Rod was not able to free Prime, he did succesfully inspire Whirl to transform and free himself from the loop. The Sleeper Now armed with the knowledge that Maccadam's was only part of an enormous Titan, the misfit team investigated the depths of the Titan's internal workings and trapped themselves in an intense virtual training arena. After 504 rounds, the group was saved by Perceptor, who cut the power. Perceptor had deduced that this wasn't just any Titan; this could only be Iaconus, the last of the mighty War Titans. After being captured by Skullcruncher and rescued by the others, Clobber found out more about Iaconus from Maccadam, who had followed them into the depths of his Titan. The Citizen

Ignoring Maccadam's warnings that the legendarily violent Titan must never be woken, Hot Rod decided that they would need to free Windblade and use her cityspeaking abilities to bring the Titan back online. This necessitated yet another sojurn into the Quintesson network, where Clobber ran distraction for Chromia while Hot Rod tried to free his friend. In the real world, however, they had been found by a group of Quintessons. Clobber, Whirl and Dead End were forced to flee, but their hastily retreat accidentally yanked Soundwave free from the simulation. They brought the offline Soundwave back to Maccadam's to decide what to do with him, only for Soundwave to eventually regain consciousness. The Trial

As a result of the improper disconnection, Soundwave's mind would periodically "glitch" back into the Quintesson simulation. The growing resistance hatched a new plan to capture and interrogate a Quintesson bailiff under Soundwave's command. When the team split up to box in their victim, Soundwave ordered Clobber to reluctantly doublecross so that Soundwave could take command—an order that she begrudgingly complied with, apologizing as she began to lay into the Autobot. When Soundwave glitched out, Hot Rod was able to talk Clobber down. Clobber later knocked out their target and the team spirited back to Maccadam's, where they interrogated the Sharkticon. The Prisoner

Armed with their new knowledge, the resistance broke into Quintesson headquarters to confront the enigmatic Quintesson Scientist, but Clobber and the others were locked out of the Scientist's antechamber when Hot Rod and Soundwave went to confront the alien. While the two were occupied, the rest of the team set about hacking into and breaking the other Cybertronians out of the virtual loop, with Clobber and Perceptor teaming up to force the Decepticons out of the simulation and back into reality using Air Hammers before escaping. The Scientist

With the combined forces of Cybertron at their disposal, the Autobots and Decepticons launched an attack on the Decepticon fortress but were ultimately repelled, moments before Windblade began awakening Iaconus. The Alliance Alongside Whirl and Rack'n'Ruin, Clobber battled Sharkticons and Prosecutors after the cloaking module was deactivated. During a direct attack on the Quintesson Judge, Clobber joined her fellow resistance members as they dogpiled the alien and ultimately killed it—but although it seemed like the end of the Quintessons, they had one last trick up their sleeve: the Scientist had gestated a new Judge... one that incoporated Starscream himself, who had cut a deal with the aliens after escaping Autobot custody. The Judge

Clobber and the other Transformers were all rounded up by Starscream to stand trial. The End Of The Universe I Although the other Cybertronians tried to obfuscate where their missing leaders had gone to stall Starscream, Clobber was slow on the uptake and had to shushed by Whirl. The End Of The Universe II Clobber eventually escaped after Maccadam arrived to open the cells, though such an act ultimately cost him his life. The End Of The Universe III

Following the defeat of the Quintessons, the deaths of both Iaconus and Croaton, and the return of both Optimus Prime and Megatron to their native universe, Megatron announced a ceasefire with the Autobots in exchange for half of Cybertron. As a result of her many adventures during the Quintesson occupation, Clobber chose to change sides at the conclusion of this conflict and became a proper Autobot. Nonetheless, she remained good friends with Lockdown, as the two swapped stories while guarding opposite ends of the border fence that separated the two territories. When Bumblebee payed the two a visit, he displayed some of his multiversal energy before infiltrating Lockdown's half of the fence, which embarrassed Clobber. Enemy Line

Just before the arrival of Decepticon warriors from another dimension, Clobber watched from the Autobots' headquarters as Megatron raised a shield array over Decepticon territory. Silent Strike Some time later, Clobber was among the Autobots who cheered at the sight of Windblade's full recovery. The Other One She later attended the signing of the Treaty of the Wall, but was time locked by the invading Mercenaries. When later saved by the Dinobots and unfrozen by Wheeljack, she celebrated the signing of the treaty and finally got to give Lockdown a hug as the wall between the factions was brought down. The Immobilizers

When the opposing forces of Decepticon supersoldiers arrived on Cybertron, Clobber watched their battle with Hot Rod and Perceptor. When Tarn reprogrammed the supersoldiers, Clobber sped through the streets with Wheeljack and Arcee, but they were attacked.. She called to Lockdown, Wildwheel and Dead End for help. Only Lockdown helped, and together they defeated the supersoldiers attacking them. Clobber received a message from Hot Rod and led the others to the coordinates Hot Rod had supplied, and joined Hot Rod and the Autobot forces underground to form a plan to take back the planet. She and Alpha Strike came to Lockdown’s rescue during the battle against Tarn’s forces. Clobber stood with the other Autobots and Decepticons in shock as the smoke cleared following Soundwave’s sacrifice, and later attended Soundwave’s wake. The Perfect Decepticon

  • Clobber (Ultra Class, 2019, 2021)
    • Accessories: Blaster/turret
Released in the fifth wave of the Cyberverse Ultra Class lineup, Clobber transforms from robot to Cybertronian hover tank. Starting with this wave, Ultra Class toys included a new flip-out "energon armor" gimmick in robot mode, and generally-improved articulation than the previously-largely-static Ultras; Clobber features joints in her knees, hips, elbows, wrists, and shoulders. Her tank-mode cannon becomes a claw-held weapon for robot mode.
Possibly due to the ambiguity of the actual color, the toy replaces the character's green parts with a flat grey.
Clobber was released twice: First in late 2019 under the Cyberverse line's Battle for Cybertron subline imprint, and then again in 2021 in the line's final Dinobots Unite subline imprint packaging refresh.
Clobber was meant to be released for the Japanese markets by TakaraTomy, under the designation "TCV-39 Weapon Trigger Clobber" with a March 28, 2020 release date. Unfortunately, unlike the Deluxe Class figures, the Ultra Class wave's release was canceled, possibly due to poor sales, or the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, or (most likely) a combination of both.

  • Cyberverse story editor Randolph Heard "fell in love" with the look of Lugnut, the fanatically loyal Decepticon from Transformers Animated. When asked if Cyberverse could do a female version of Lugnut, Hasbro preferred to keep "Lugnut" as male, but was open to a female version with a different name, which became "Clobber". Series writer Mae Catt considered the Lugnut/Clobber gender change to be one of the show's greatest developments.[1] This change evidently came rather late or caused confusion, as Clobber is called "Lugnut" in some non-English dubbing. In addition, her toy packaging uses the masculine inflection of "Bruiser" for her function in French, Spanish, and Portuguese. Her official description on Hasbro's website uses male pronouns.
  • Clobber's supercharged punch attack is based on the Punch of Kill Everything the original Lugnut is famous for.
  • Clobber becomes an official Autobot in the show's third season, swapping out her Decepticon sigil for an Autobot one. Due to animation errors however, she would frequently be shown wearing the Decepticon sigil again in random shots.
