The Seekers were generally Decepticon-leaning neutrals following Starscream's lead, until Shockwave bombed Vos. Though a good portion of the main Seeker forces still followed Starscream into the Decepticons, the survivors of the Vos massacre felt betrayed and joined the Autobots instead, becoming the Aerialbots and patrolling Iacon and Kalis. Jetfire was a Decepticon who defected to the Autobots and mostly worked in a laboratory to improve their flight capabilities. He led the Aerialbots to gather every spaceworthy craft to distract Trypticon while the Ark was built. Exodus
Silverbolt was present as part of Prime's command crew after the Ark fled Cybertron through the space bridge. He was, apparently, the only flier present, and his ability was treated as a unique virtue. What happened to all the other Aerialbots that were under his command on Cybertron is unclear...Exiles
By the time that the Ark reached the planet Aquatron, Silverbolt was joined by four of the Aerialbots. When Megatron caught up with the Ark and attacked it, the Aerialbots defended the ship by combining into Superion and taking the fight to Megatron, although they were eventually defeated. When the Autobots and Decepticons were forced to team up against the Quintessons and their Sharkticon troopers, the Aerialbots once again joined the fray by combining; Superion proved crucial in the evacuation effort after the city began to sink. The Autobot aerial corps, the Aerialbots were armed with machine guns in their jet mode and X12 Scrapmakers in their robot modes. They were led by Silverbolt, despite his fear of heights.
When Starcream, Thundercracker and Skywarp were sent to reactivate the Geosynchronous Energon Bridge, Aerialbots were among the Autobot forces that failed to stop the three. When Omega Supreme was activated against Megatron, he deployed Aerialbots against the Decepticon leader only for them to be mowed down by the Nucleon Shock Cannons.
When Optimus Prime ordered the Autobot fleet to evacuate the planet, Megatron turned his space station's weapon against the refugee ships. At Prime's order, Silverbolt led his troops to disable the weapon only for the security systems to kill all but he, Jetfire and Air Raid. The three managed to disable the station's primary power systems only for the backups to instantly come online and reveal it was itself a Cybertronian, Trypticon. When Trypticon prepared to fire on Optimus Prime himself, Air Raid realized that Trypticon must have had a transformation cog. When the three destroyed it, Trypticon reverted to his robot mode, continuing his orbital attack via his jet pack. The Aerialbots managed to destroy the jet pack, sending Trypticon down to Cybertron. Outpaced by gravity, they only caught up with the monster when he was fighting Optimus, Ironhide and Bumblebee. Though they attempted to aid their ground counterparts, Trypticon swatted them away.
The three reunited with their friends following Trypticon's defeat, observing the continued evacuation of the fleet and the early stages of the Ark's construction. Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/PS3/PC)
