Indeed. There is no purpose. 86.29.37.121 14:10, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

test

(shrugs) official policy maybe? 204.52.215.107 05:36, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a proponent of setting up test.wikipedia policy pages on meta, that way they don't get mixed up with the various sandbox and test pages here. Anywho, yes, the page is protected to keep the message clear to visitors. Kylu (talk) 06:17, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"an arena to play with administrator's tools"

[edit]

I do not understand why is that a problem. When there is new function that goes live this is the wiki where I go the check it out to see how it works and how it looks and responds. Doing that on a real project wiki can annoy people with your test edits, can give problems involving local policy about who may have certain rights. Basically a real production wiki is not a good a place to "play with administrator's tools".

But this wiki ...what is the harm? If not here where? MediaWiki is not getting more easy with all the options that exist today. A place to test so when you need to use them for real is very useful. --Walter (talk) 22:38, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Endorse, more i think is necessary local crats have the permissions for remove the group sysop and addre/remove povwatch... Sir Lestaty de Lioncourt (talk) 23:14, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think we're talking specifically about people asking for adminship just to play around with the bog-standard delete, protect, block tools. Werdna (talk) 08:44, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So that means users really interested in testing stuff may request adminship? (BTW: Where???) --PaterMcFly (talk) 19:22, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bots disallowed?

[edit]

Nonsense that Test Wikipedia's rules are more restrictive than in usual--Bandar Lego (talk) 16:24, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Does test wiki look like the sandbox?

[edit]

For normal user: Sandbox (you can test moving page) For developers: Developing code So I think this is the purpose of Test Wiki. Thingofme (talk) 03:22, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit?

[edit]

I have a request for people to edit WP:! here. I think it should still have protection such as established, registered; or autoconfirmed. Abrown1019 (talk) 17:34, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. —Justin (koavf)TCM 06:42, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
