Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu’s Birdman is not an exception to this fact. Although the movie is an attempt for an original voice in cinema, it takes its initial spark from Raymond Carver’s collection of Short stories “What We Talk about When We Talk about Love.” Gonzales, in an effort to flee from the anxiety of producing a cliché adaptation of literature, creates Birdman. He gives birth to a character -Riggan- who has already failed as a former superstar of cinema, and now desperately tries to gain back his reputation by staging Carver's work, unaware that Carver is so great an influence in art and literature that will lead the anxious Riggan to nervous breakdown. In fact, though Gonzales escapes the influence from the realm of literature due to his anxiety, his character moves in the opposite direction, finding an unshakeable shelter in literature for his ego at first, yet faces the anxiety of influences later. This paper aims to portray that the anxiety of influence that the director is fleeing from, is ironically present at the core of his film, and that cinema's indebtedness to literature is "irresistible.”

This 19 th century reader responded to the epistemological path of the drama with great satisfaction of watching the reality inside the text.

Harry Potter books are no exception to this rule according to many critics. However, looking sharply at the book proves that its author, J.K.Rowling, knew exactly what she was writing and why she was writing it.
The paper in hand, analyses Harry Potter series based on three important English bases: the mythological feature, the biblical themes, and the Arthurian tradition.
With upbringing examples from the books and other sources, we come up with the realization of the point that the books are rich in conveying the rooted-old messages of literature and History.

The history of this worthy discipline in the last one hundred and fty years unmistakably describes the path of a steady decline. Its greatest achievements all belong to the nineteenth century. To write the history of a national literature counted, in the times of Gervinus and Scherer, De Sanctis and Lanson, as the crowning life's work of the philologist. The patriarchs of the discipline saw their highest goal therein, to represent in the history of literary works [Dichtwerke] the idea of national individuality on its way to itself. This high point is already a distant memory. The received form of literary history scarcely scratches out a living for itself in the intellectual life of our time. It has maintained itself in requirements for examinations by the state system of examinations that are themselves ready for dismantling. As a compulsory subject in the high school curriculum, it has almost disappeared in Germany. Beyond that, literary histories are still to be found only, if at all, on the bookshelves of the educated bourgeoisie who for the most part opens them, lacking a more appropriate literary dictionary, to answer literary quiz questions.
