The list is used solely for things I've been involved in. If you want to add something that I haven't been involved in the development or progression of, please make a new list or put it in one of the top paragraphs. --Tathar 23:31, 26 August 2006 (CDT)
Creation of new templates and categories[edit source]
Tathar, if you feel the need to create new templates and categories (specifically, Template:FutureWiiOwner, Template:WikiNoob and Category:WikiNoobs), please ask first. That way, problems can be fixed, such as the fact that the FutureWiiOwner template could be replaced by a userbox, and there's no point in either the other template, or the category (in fact, they're in somewhat bad taste if I'm going to be harsh). At this stage, StrategyWiki is too small to support a Wikipedia-esque level of community and absurdity in user pages; please just concentrate on improving the guides. --DrBob (Talk) 03:07, 28 August 2006 (CDT)
That's fine, I simply created them for the experience. --Tathar 07:05, 28 August 2006 (CDT)
Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit source]
Hello Tathar! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the community portal talk page. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- Safety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 14:33, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
- I noticed that you haven't been formally welcomed as of yet, so... welcome :P --Safety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 14:33, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
- Thanks, it's quite ironic that it took over a year for me to be formally welcomed. Tathar 15:49, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
DC Images[edit source]
I should be able to get a small .rar up on your FTP tomorrow. Question: you just wanted the items cut out that we didn't have? Also, when you're taking SC's of the images there's an easy way to put the cursor just to the side so the tooltip appears next to the item (doesn't cover it at all) - that way I can recognize (and save them) easier (without having to reference SW). That's just how I've been doing it... thanks, --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 04:22, 17 January 2008 (CST)
- I tried uploading it (check /STORAGE/DriftCity/) - it's a .rar that contains images of items for the items page. The majority of which I have no idea what they are. I don't feel well right now, and I'm busy for the next week so I probably won't do much seriously until next Thursday. --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 01:09, 18 January 2008 (CST)
DC Part Tooltips[edit source]
It's easier on the eyes. --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 19:30, 27 January 2008 (CST)
- They're a better quality because the text is sharper, not because of the larger size background. --Tathar (talk|contribs) 19:39, 27 January 2008 (CST)
{{Sys}} Revert[edit source]
Sorry, I acted a little early on that one. We don't have a policy on whether or not we should use {{sys}} on games with only a single system - however the reason I reverted it was because of the purpose of sys. Sys was originally developed to visually separate infobox listings by the system (i.e. versions, release dates, etc.) because having a small "(GBA)" or what not became too much in some cases (often causing line breaks that were both ugly and confusing). Clearly my vote is against the use, but I do not see a true problem with putting it there - community issue perhaps? I'm going to bed (work tommorow). I recommend you make the topic yourself (since you're proposing a variation on normal usage). However maybe I'm being hardheaded here and it's been used on many a game guide without my knowledge. Anyways, respond - clarify things please. --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 02:43, 31 January 2008 (CST)
- DrBob told me the same thing. He told me that it's meant for games with multiple systems, but after I explained that using it in all games made the infoboxes more uniform (in addition to looking pretty) he apparently decided not to revert it. I'm not strongly for either side of the issue, but I think that it should be at least given a chance before deciding on policy based on intended usage, especially considering that all of the message templates that StrategyWiki has use noincludes in a way that the MediaWiki authors undoubtedly did not intend. --Tathar (talk|contribs) 14:01, 31 January 2008 (CST)
- I definitely did revert it, or at least intended to, and I'm sure I pressed the rollback button. The policy to not use {{sys}} for single-system games was decided when we created the {{sys}} template, and I can't see any reason for it to change. If you really think it should be changed, feel free to bring it up on CI. --DrBob (talk) 17:11, 31 January 2008 (CST)
