SNES[edit | edit source]

30 Lives[edit | edit source]

At the title screen, hold left and push A Button three times.

Konami Code[edit | edit source]

To kill yourself, pause the game and press Up Dpad, Up Dpad, Down Dpad, Down Dpad, Left Dpad, Right Dpad, Left Dpad, Right Dpad, B Button, A Button. To receive one Speed Up, any Missile types, four Options, and any shield types, replace left and right on the Konami Code with L Button and R Button.

Arcade Mode[edit | edit source]

At the options screen, press A Button 16 times in 1 second. The game will be harder.

Increase credits[edit | edit source]

At the title screen, press X Button rapidly. After 10 button presses the credits will increase by 1. Make sure you move the cursor up or down or the demo will start and the credits will be reset to 4 when you return to the menu. You can increase your amount of credits/continues to a maximum of 9.

Insane demo screen[edit | edit source]

At the title screen, hold A Button until the demo screen begins. You will see a playthrough of the first stage on a really hard level.

Random Weapon Select[edit | edit source]

In Edit Mode, press X Button, Y Button, X Button, Y Button, X Button, Y Button. Your weapons will be selected randomly.

Bonus stages[edit | edit source]

To find out on how to acsess the stages, see the walkthrough of the stages. The bonus stages are similar to the MSX Gradius' bonus stages.

PS2/PSP[edit | edit source]

Konami Code[edit | edit source]

Pausing the game and entering Up dpad, Up dpad, Down dpad, Down dpad, Left dpad, Right dpad, Left dpad, Right dpad, Square button, Triangle button will give all weapons plus Double. Replacing the last two buttons with L1 button and R1 button(Circle button and Cross button in PS2 version) gives the Laser instead.

Cube Attack Mode[edit | edit source]

To try the last part of stage nine, beat stage 9 in order to unlock this mode in "Extra Mode" .

Gradius Mode[edit | edit source]

At the final boss, if you get hit by the bottom energy ball, you play a bonus stage based off the first stage of Gradius. Acsess that to unlock this in "Extra Mode".

Salamander Mode[edit | edit source]

At the final boss, if you get hit by the top or middle energy balls, you get sent to a bonus stage based off the latter half of stage 1 from Salamander. Acsess that to unlock this in "Extra Mode".

Extra Edit[edit | edit source]

To unlock this, you must beat the game. This allows you to select ALL weapons, plus some from the SNES game. This is also in "Extra Mode".
