3 Panel cards

 3 Panel cards

This style card is good to do when you have scraps of pattern papers.

Check out the envelope in the photo.  You can even use scraps to decorate flap of envelope.
basic instructions:
1.  Cut three 1 1/2" strips of pattern paper, and adhere them to 5" x 3 3/4" color layer of cardstock.
2.  Adhere layer with 3 strips to note card 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

3.  Stamp saying on white cardstock.  Cut ends to look like a banner, then mount to card with a small piece of ribbon behind it.
4.  Add self sticking gems to finish card.
Tip:  you can make strips any size as long as they fit on card.

Lighthouses

 Lighthouses

Lighthouses have a soft spot heart in my heart. They light our way safely home.

stamps/dies used:  Catherine Pooler Scenic Lighthouses stamp/dies and Altenew 3D embossing folders

These lighthouses are a two step style of stamps.  Two step stamps make coloring easy to do, and besides that there are dies so no fussy cutting.

These cards may look alike but there are similarities between them. A few of the cards have the embossed only on half of the card, where others are full embossed backgrounds.  There is one card with a green plaid background that I had in my stash.  The envelopes have pattern paper on the flaps.

Duoprinting with Chlorophyll cards

 Duoprinting with Chlorophyll

This is a unique technique, where you press leaves, and ferns between two pieces of cardstock.  I used my Big Kick to press the leaves, and ferns.

stamps used:  Unity stamp co. and Altenew stamp co. for sayings

basic instructions for duoprinting with chlorophyll:

1.  fold a piece of copy paper in half - open it up.
2.  cut two pieces of cardstock (I did 4 1/4" x 5 1/2") - place one of them inside the copy paper.
3.  place your leaves, or herbs, or any combination on cardstock.
4.  place another piece of cardstock on top of leaves/herbs.
5.  fold the copy paper over the two pieces of cardstock with the leaves/herbs sandwiched inside them.
These are just a few of the prints I made with all the leaves, and ferns I collected outside.

6.  run them through Big Kick (whatever machine you own).
7.  peel the two pieces of cardstock apart and VIOLA!  beautiful nature cards.

Just know that different leaves/herbs react different to the pressing, so you never know what it will look like till you peel them apart.
I also did this technique with envelopes to match the cards.

You get a positive and negative ... two for the price of one.

Platform flap cards

 Platform flap cards

stamps used:  Stampin' Up

stamps used:  Stampin' Up

This is a variation of a card I called Platform cards, which you can see in this 2018 post, 2019 post, and 2020 post. These are just a few posts, if you would like to see more, type platform in my search box on the side bar.

Basic instructions:

base card (quarter card): 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

layer: 4" x 5 1/4"

DSP flap layer: 3" x 6"  score at 1/2"

Score so the DSP (designer series paper or any pattern paper) matches up at the bottom of the 4" x 5 1/2" layer. Fold and score the DSP, and adhere 1/2" flap to back of 4" x 5 1/4" layer.  Stamp saying under flap on white layer so it is not visible when card is closed.  Adhere layer with flap to base, add embellishments to finish card.

Envelope:  adhere same DSP to flap for decoration.

Avocado dyed papers

 Avocado dyed papers

papers laid out to dry.
a bunch of papers, tags and envelopes that have dried.

I tried my hand at dying papers/tags/envelopes with avocado skins and pits. You would think they would come out brown but they don't ... they are more on the reddish side.

The photos don't capture the true colors...trust me they are more red than brown.

It is a bit of a time consuming process, because first you boil the skins/pits then simmer for an hour or so. After that you need to strain it into a container, then you place in all your papers in, and let them soak for a few hours.  Next you need to lay all the papers/tags out to dry.

you can dye just about anything...above are envelopes.
Here are papers and tags ... look close and you can see printed papers.

I learned this process watching videos at Treasure books on youtube.  Her name is Natalie and she has a lot of videos about dying papers and more.

Quick trees

Here is a quick card show and tell.  The background has all the little trees randomly stamped along the edge of a cream card.  Main layer has color swiped on it with Ranger Distress stains.  Stamped with mini tree stamp set .... the hello is from Tree Greetings at Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps! a Heinrich Company .  You may remember the stamped envelopes from this post a couple of weeks ago.
Here is a tag I did using the same mini tree stamp set along with the church from this stamp set that was offer as a free mini a couple of months ago.  Click on the tag to view larger to see the mica I stamped the tree onto then added brad so it moves on the tag.  That's it for today.  thanks for visiting.  come back soon.

Envelope please - cont.

Here are some of the envelopes I folded stamped.  Just did some simple stamping on them because of the decorative papers I used for these folded envelopes.  Got out some stamps I haven't used in years like the two Fred Mullet fish images.  I love his images but they are expensive so only have a couple.  Got out my little solid seahorse from Stamps by Lasting Impressions with Panache .  A PSX big shell that my friend just gave to me because she found a duplicate in her stash of stamps. thank you my friend.  Bubbles from MMR (museum of modern rubber-out of business), swirl from Hot Potatoes Rubber Stamps that I have had forever and a few other images that I don't remember the companies name.

Envelopes, please

If you have been reading my blog this week you know I went over a friends' house to stamp.  Well, my friend likes to make envelopes and she told me she sits in front of the t.v. and folds envelopes sooooooo I did it yesterday morning.  Now keep in mind these are a work in progress.  First set of envelopes (pic on left) are called Diamond Fold.  Next set of envelopes (pic on right) are called Easy Square fold envelopes.  Last bunch of envelopes (pic on bottom left) are called Mennonite Fold note.  Oh yes, did I mention all these folded type envelopes are in Creative Correspondence book by Michael and Judy Jacobs.  There are a lot of fun folds for envelopes and cards in this book.  I said these are a work in progress because they are made out of decorative papers and could be left alone but being a stamper I need to stamp on them.  Should get to that later this week or next week and when I do I will show them to you.
