My name is John Tolle. I'm an engineer / data scientist in Houston. I help teams make decisions, learn from experiments and existing data, and solve problems.

I currently do data science, software engineering, and statistical analysiswith Python and the modern ML stack (including Databricks, Spark, etc.) as well as R and the tidyverse. I'm good at translating between business problems and technical solutions. I've improved decisions worth tens of millions of dollars this way for my stakeholders.

I have a long track record of writing code to solve engineering problems, ranging from Bayesian VOI-driven experimental design tools, to a functional programming system for spreadsheet cost model development, to control systems for prototype manufacturing systems.
