Talk:Tamaricaceae
There is still no consensus regarding the generic circumscription of this family in relation to the two putative monospecific genera Hololachna Ehrenb. (1827) and Myrtama Ovcz. & Kinzik. (1977), as the former is often subsumed into Reaumuria L. (1759) and the later Myricaria Desv. (1825). Hernández-Ledesma et al. (2015) still maintain their separation citing Gaskin et al. (2004), but neglected Wang et al. (2009), Zhang et al. (2006) and Zhang et al. (2014) in their analyses. However, these papers are clear in not segregating either of the two combinations.
The uncertainty is reflected in secondary sources, where Catalague of Life segregates the genera, whereas Tropicos does not - see CAL Hololachne and CAL Myrtama c.f. Tropicos Hololachna and Tropicos Myrtama. Flora of China prefers not to segregate see Tamaricaceae, as both are endemics to the the area covered by this Flora, it is best that WS follows FOC in this case, also given the evidence (Wang et al., 2009, Zhang et al., 2006 & Zhang et al., 2014).
