[edit]Cnephaeus hottentotus portavernus (Schlitter & Aggundey, 1986)
- Holotype: CM 89000, adult ♂, skin and skull, collected by D.A. Schlitter on 30 September 1985.
- Type locality: “Hell's Gate Canyon (= Njorowa Gorge), 20 km S, 14 km W Naivasha, Naivasha Dist., Rift Valley Prov., Kenya (0°54 S, 36°19 E)”.
- Paratype (1): USNM 375919, adult ♀, body in alcohol with skull extracted, from “Njorowa Gorge, near Lake Naivasha, Rift Valley, 6400 feet, Kenya (0°55 S, 36°19 E)”; collected by A.D. Forbes-Watson on 20 September 1965.
