Achanarella trewini Newman, 2002

  • Holotype: NEWHM 1999.H1801.1, complete, relatively large individual on a slab with various other individuals.

Type locality and horizon: Achanarras fish bed, Achanarras Quarry, Caithness, Scotland. Mid Devonian, Eifelian.

Etymology: Named after Dr. Nigel Trewin who has done much during the last 25 years to promote the faunal assemblage at Achanarras Quarry.
