János Vág
János Vág DMD, Ph.D., is a full professor and the head of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics (formerly was Conservative Dentistry), Semmelweis University, Hungary. He is certified in Conservative and Prosthetic Dentistry and Endodontics. He received his Ph.D. in 2003 in the field of the microcirculation of the salivary gland. He earned Wellcome Trust Travelling Research Fellowship and studied cell and molecular biology between 2003 and 2005 at Dublin Dental School & Hospital, Trinity Colleges. He received his habilitation in 2019 on the microcirculation of human gingiva. In recent years his interests focused on digital dentistry to evaluate the accuracy of CADCAM systems and using digital dentistry in forensic science. He is a board member of the Hungarian Society of Endodontics and the Hungarian Digital Dentistry Association. He was one of the founders and the first president of the Hungarian Association for Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry. He is a member of the Digital Dentistry Society and the American Society of Forensic Odontology. He has participated in and supervised 38 research grants. He has 52 publications in peer-reviewed journals with 450 citations. Recently he has been awarded by Semmelweis University Innovation Price and by the American Society of Forensic Odontology.
