More Valentines - I love you more than.....

Hi there friends. I said I'd be back with a few more Valentines. These were for my husband and two kids. "I love you more than...." seemed to be my theme for this year.
First one - for the husband - lover of maps, stars, space etc. I couldn't find a sentiment I wanted so I just wrote it myself. I just stamped the PTI Star Gazer Additions stamp with Versamark, clear embossed it and went to town with four different inks.
He liked it.

Next up - the card for my son. I was here in my craft room, looking for something (and I honestly can't remember what that was now....) and I came upon a box filled with diecuts (the premade kind available way back when...). I saw this pizza die cut that I'd originally purchased to put on a scrapbook page about this very same child. I decided why not just use it already! So I glued all those pieces together, embossed some white cardstock with a stylus- to create a napkin - and put that on a cardbase covered in some PTI Pure Poppy gingham patterned paper.  I just printed out the sentiment on my computer.
Suffice it to say this child loves his pizza - he comes by it honestly - pizza is in our blood.

And finally, a valentine for my daughter. This kid was not originally a coffee fan - but somewhere along the line, in high school as I recall, she decided she liked coffee. And often times we both can be found, oh around 4pm, gathered around our Keurig, brewing ourselves a cup. I have been on a Silhouette kick lately - trying to use it as much as possible - learning still what it can do after 2 years. I saw this print & cut coffee cup in the Silhouette store. Printed & cut same, added a computer generated sentiment (inside it says "and that's a lot"). She laughed when she saw it - saying something to the effect - well that IS  alot. Everyone knows I love my coffee.
But I love these three more (more than the stars in the sky, more than pizza and more than coffee).
Hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day. My husband and I had just the nicest time - went to the movies (The Imitation Game - such a good movie!) and out to dinner. This was our 33rd Valentine's Day together. I think it's fair to say it was our best ever. :-)
Thanks for stopping by.

Still too busy for my likin

Yes things seem to get in the way of my card making. Work, laundry, cooking blah blah blah. We did go away last weekend to visit my eldest nephew and his wife. That was so fun - you know how it is sometimes - nothing will do but to just get on the road and getaway! We did a lot in a short little visit: went to see their new house they'll be closing on at the end of the month; went out to lunch; went bowling (I haven't done that in yearsssss and we had a ball... a bowling ball LOL), went to the movies (saw Silver Linings Playbook - so good!),went out to dinner. I'd always wanted to go to this fondue place - The Melting Pot (have you been?) and when they suggested it I was so in. Yum. (yes it was a fattening weekend but that's all I shall say on that subject.)
Anyway - you go away and then you need to catch up with everything you put aside for the weekend. (Laundry, grocery shopping... did I say laundry? ugh). I've been so busy I haven't even stamped with some new Papertrey Ink stamps I bought in February - unheard of for me. I find a way to get ink on stamps within days of receipt. And heck - Santa bought me a Silhouette Portrait for Christmas I'm still trying to get a handle on. So the other day I said I'm pulling out something and I'm stamping and I'm Silhouetting.
On the first card I used some burlap I had hanging around for years combined with the green burlap I picked up in Michaels a week or two ago. I diecut the letters with some Sizzix dies (Funky Brush) out of PTI Hibiscus Burst Bitty Dot patterned paper. I think I love those diecut letters alot all polkadotted up. The little bunny is stamped and diecut from PTI's Polka Dot Parade #1. The word Happy is from PTI's Stylish Sentiments. The buttons are also PTI. And the Bakers Twine is from WeRMemory Keepers. I love that little bunny so much I decided to pair him up with a card I cut using my Silhouette Portrait. The patterned paper is again PTI but this time Bitty Dot  Spring Moss. It's a simple card but I like it and I was happy to actually produce something using the Silhouette. I had gotten a bit frustrated with the Silhouette - it's not the Silhouette that's the problem - it's me. I need more time to play with it and finally getting something made was encouraging.
SSo that's all for now. I'm determined to get some more cards made on Sunday (yes tomorrow is already spoken for - ugh!). Thanks for stopping by and have a good one!

Since I'm on a roll

I thought I'd just check in...
Last night we watched The Help - such a good movie. I really loved the book - was one of my "beach" books this past summer. Right now I'm reading  In The Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson. It's really quite good.  I'd read another of his books The Devil in the White City - also a good one. Neither are light reading but fascinating and worth the time in my opinion :-)
Wondering if anyone is watching the Project Runway All-Stars? I only saw part of it the other night and am planning on watching the rest tonight.
Ok... gotta run !

thank yous and the women

Got a lovely new stampinup wheel and had to use it right away on a thank you card. I made several subsequent thank yous i'll post soon but this here was my first attempt. I am in love with this wheel. lovely typography. graphic appeal. i know i'll be using it to death. And being as it's the season of thanks - heck maybe i'll even make napkin rings for the thanksgiving table.
on a side note - dh and i have been watching a number of movies of late on hbo (we don't subscribe normally but there was some deal .... it came with some configuration of our FIOS.. but i digress). One day i saw "The Women" was on - i'd wanted see if this version did justice to the original movie - one of my old movie favorites. Have you seen the original? With Joan Crawford, Norma Shearer and the amazing Rosalind Russell? If not - you really must. There is no one like Rosalind Russell (another RR favorite - Auntie Mame... a must see). Anyway - the new version - well I enjoyed it. But sometimes, with all the updates - well it loses something in the translation. But it was certainly entertaining. Another movie we decided to try - "The Changeling" with Angelina Jolie - if you haven't seen that one - please do. Really wonderful. Gotta run!

another baby card

okay so the other card i made for my sister's new baby? i decided I'd let my mother use it to send to my sister and I'd make another card for baby g. My niece has been baby g since before her birth and now it is the initial of her first name :-)
Supplies: DCWV and Bazzill cardstock; DCWV adhesive backed ribbon; Rubber Soul Giraffe stamp; Purple Onion Designs "welcome baby" from the mini sentiments set and "g" from Garamouche medium alpha; inner double circle stamp is Paper Salon. Cuttlebug swiss dot embossing folder and SU punches: circle and scalloped circle (phew thats a lot-o-shtuff for one card.....)
does anyone remember the original "baby g"... from ToysRUs? You know Geoffrey Giraffe and baby g... do you remember what baby g's mother was named? anyone? It's driving me crazy I cannot remember.
ah well. Memorial Day weekend here was kinda quiet. We broke out the grill. Barbecued chicken one day and steak another. Yum.
And we did another Video on Demand. This time around it was "Gone Baby Gone" with Casey Affleck, Ed Harris and Morgan Freeman. Wow. What a great movie. Not exactly happy subject matter (child abduction) but what a story.
I need to get moving for the day. Daughter is back to school today but I have my son home for the summer and my husband has taken off this week. It's hard getting anything done with these men about!

More Birthday Roses

okay here's another card - same stuff except I used my quickutz photo corners die as well (don't even ask me how many time i had to cut those out before i got them with the stripes going in the right direction on each side - geez and now i look again and one is still crooked.... not... doing... it... again.... )
It's funny how you can have boxes full of ribbon and still don't have one the right color. I improvised. I had some really skinny pink and decided to add 3 pieces instead of having one tied around the image. I kinda like it.
Let's see... its sorta rainy again. A little drizzle falling - we must pay for the gorgeous day yesterday I spose.
Last night we did the Video on Demand and watched "Enchanted". Can I tell you thoroughly was? It was so cute and I thoroughly enjoyed it ... so there!
Off to flip some laundry - have a good Sunday

Valentine - Admit One

It's that time of year :-)
As some of you know, I love valentines.
I've been known to send a few.
But this one - I think I'll keep for the husband
I used Romance Heart Cube from Stampington for the heart. I tea dyed some cardstock and stamped with Stampin Up Purely Pomegranate (just a great color!). The Admit One stamp is from Purple Onion Designs. The background was created using the wonderful Damask stamp also from Purple Onion Designs. I stamped it in versamark and used the Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress embossing powder. The background paper was a scrap from the little secret compartment Nancy Drew book I made my niece for Christmas. I also added a little bit of black rick rack to finish things off.
Yesterday, I forgot to mention a movie we'd seen recently. If you have a chance, go see Michael Clayton with George Clooney. He's enough reason to go see it ;-) but the movie was excellent.

gift card christmas 2 - the sequel

okay first things first - my header magically appeared this morning - it had been cut off and I was saying a little prayer to the blogger gods they'd fix it and indeed they did. The picture is of moi at age 3 at Christmas time. Note the stockings in the background. (Yes, I still have mine.) Some of you may recognize this photo of me from an ATC I did a while back.
Okay. That's enough on that....
This morning I went to Greenberry's (the local coffee place) and met up with my good friend June.
(Lauren - there was a chocolate teacake in the vicinity.... I've been to Greenberry's a few times and never looked at the bakery items... why torture myself right? omigosh - June you should take a picture of that thing so Lauren can see it! )
We had a wonderful time catching up over coffee, didn't we June?

Okay so on to the cards!
It's Gift Card Christmas 2- the sequel. Starring 2 gift card holders!
I made this gift card holder for June. It's a little tip of the hat to our love of "Monk" and his hating the word Joy at this time of year. (I used some Basic Grey Fruitcake paper and the Joy is from that adorable Purple Onion Holidoodle Sentiment Set) as well as some Hero Arts alpha stamps for the shmoy.
I also made another gift card holder for another friend but I had to wait til it was received so I could post it.

Here's the whole thing - IN REALITY its a library pocket dressed up in holiday paper masquerading as a gift card holder! (I used an old Deluxe Cuts template to create the library pocket. Come to think of it I used another Deluxe cuts template to make June's gc holder....Isn't it funny how you may not have used something in a long while and all of a sudden you pull it out and say wow... this is pretty darn cool? Why haven't i used this in sooo long?)
Then there is an insert that holds the gift card. I pulled out the Happy Holidays stamp form a StampinUp set and used white embossing powder on that. Found a holly and berry eyelet and set that in the center of the circle.
I used a coffee cup stamp I've got and versamarked that and used some white chalk to color it. And i got out the sewing machine and made the pockets.
After the coffee I came home and got started on my baking. I baked most of the afternoon and into the evening. How thoughtful those television folks were to put on "White Christmas" again so I could listen (and watch) while I was baking - dontcha think?
I'll be back tomorrow to show you all the goodies.

snocapped christmas

so a long time ago an aunt (that would be me) took a nephew (that would be my oldest nephew - the first one who is now 31 and still totatlly has my heart) to the movies. We saw "Who framed Roger Rabbit". Now the important part of the excursion apparently was my introducing nephew to Snocaps. He never forgot the snocaps.

In 1995 I got the book Martha Stewarts Handmade Christmas and lo and behold - there is a recipe to make nonpareils. I decided I'd make them for nephew and he loved them. You gotta watch out sometimes when you do these things - traditions are born. (wink) So I have been making nonpareils every year at Christmas. And yesterday and today I made a bunch (you see he's not the only one who loves them. Now I need to make a lot for many family members). Sometimes I can find the white sugar beads and sometimes I cannot - no one ever complains although i prefer the look of the white ones myself (yes, I'm totally into tradition and the classic look of things).

They're very easy to make - 8 oz bittersweet chocolate melted in a double boiler. Stir in a 1/2 tsp of vegetable shortening. Spoon out maybe nickel sized rounds of chocolate onto parchment paper. Wait around 20 minutes and then sprinkle on the sugar beads. If you don't wait til the chocolate has cooled a little the sugar beads will melt.
Once the candies have hardened you can just peel them off the parchment paper and enjoy!

By the way - although i've looked at some of my regular rounds of favorite blogs I haven't commented much. I will get back to my regular schedule soon okay? Thanks!

A different color scheme and holiday movies

Here's a different color scheme for this card. The other day I posted a darker version - with a red bow in Jacqueline's hair. Yes, her name is Jacqueline and what i'm showing here is a portion of the actual stamp from Character Constructions. Here (in my mind) she is looking at herself in a mirror before she goes to a holiday party (the bow is quite festive in blue as well as red, n'est-ce pas?) Oh - the mirror is a actually a stamp from Purple Onion Designs called Vintage Ornate Frame - but to me - when I first saw it I thought it looked like a mirror we had in my home when I was growing up. (yeah... that's vintage alright).
I colored the frame using Windsor Newton gold ink. The background is also from Purple Onion Designs. Music is always playing when Jacqueline gets ready for a soiree you know. A little sponging and stippling in the background as well with distress inks.

Okay... now on to the movies! Holiday movies to be exact.
I adore Holiday movies. No holiday will be complete without me watching some, if not all, of the following:

  1. It's a Wonderful Life (black and white please)
  2. Miracle on 34th Street (original version with Edmund Gwenn, Natalie Wood, Maureen O'Hara)
  3. Holiday Inn (Bing, Fred, Marjorie Reynolds and Virginia Dale)
  4. White Christmas (Bing, Danny, Rosemary and Vera)
  5. Going My Way (Bing and Barry Fitzgerald)
  6. The Bells of St. Mary's (Bing and Ingrid)
  7. The Bishops Wife (with Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven)
  8. Christmas in Connecticut (with Barbara Stanwyk, Dennis Morgan and Sidney Greenstreet)
  9. Trading Places (with Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd) - we laugh our heads off everytime we watch it so last year I bought us our own on dvd. You really must watch if you haven't seen it before.
  10. A Christmas Carol - any version will do - old or new or animated (c'mon you know you love Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol.... with the razzleberry dressing... !)
  11. Desk Set (Hepburn and Tracy)

Two movies I just love are always hard to find:

  1. Pocketful of Miracles (with Bette Davis and Glen Ford)
  2. Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas - a Jim Henson creation - its just the sweetest movie

if anyone notices these are going to be on let me know! well if they are on a cable station I guess LOL! Okay so there you have it - and now I'd love to hear what are your favorite hoilday movies. I know I've got others but the first 11 are absolute musts for me. What do you watch?

Last night we went to see the play my daughter has been working on. For this one she did the scenery and was on the crew. It was Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods. What a great show it was too. Some very talented kids and some really great scenery!

Happy Birthday Miss Linda Lou from the Bday Queen

Sunday is my good friend Linda's birthday - let's hear it for miss linda lou! The birthday queen wishes lots of cake, ice cream and presents to you!

For Linda's birthday a group of us, led by the wonderful Miss Tina, decided to shower Linda with some ATC's.

Here's my ATC for Linda:

I decided LInda also needed a birthday card so here's what i sent her:
As you can see I don't think there can ever be enough birthday or enough crowns for said birthday. When it's your day - you are queen (or king as the case may be ) and you rule!
(all the alphabet stamps are Purple Onion Designs btw!)
I know i've been absent for the past few days. I did indeed finish Harry Potter - omigosh it was wonderful. I tried my best to drag it out but i finished it pretty quickly. And i've even gone back and read the last few chapters again - it was so good. (So good in fact i've gone back to the first book and have about 30 pages left to read on that. Re-reading them all might be just what i do - after reading the last one going back to re-read them kinda puts it all in perspective. I know some of you non-HP people think I'm crazy but guess what? i don't care!)
Ok. I keep forgetting. A few weeks back I rented a wonderful double DVD set - documentary I'd love to recommend to anyone who enjoys true murder mysteries. I don't know why I find them fascinating but I do. For example I loved the book Fatal Vision - and the mini-series they made from it - just amazing. Anyway the documentary is called The Staircase. Our Blockbuster had it so I'm sure yours will too. I'd originally seen some of it on a free Sundance weekend on TV. I was so excited to see it was available to rent - and i highly recommend it. My husband and daughter and I watched both DVD's over two nights. We really didn't want to stop watching but it got too late so we finished up the following night. Get it...
Tonight we rented Premonition with Sandra Bullock. I'd be interested in hearing what anyone else thought of this movie. It started out one way and ended up in a completely different place (and as far as I was concerned the movie lost its way).

breakfast with Harry

well practically.
we (husband and daughter) wanted to see Harry Potter this weekend. We never go to the opening - we are not fans of crowded theaters. Originally we thought it might be fun to go to the Air & Space Museum out by Dulles to see the movie.
(if you're not familiar - the main Air & Space is in Washington, DC - the National Mall Museum - is about an hour from here. This is the one everyone knows -however, a few years ago they opened another out by Dulles Airport called the Udvar-Hazy Center to house all the stuff they can't display on the mall - obviously all those planes and space shuttles take up a lot of room and there is room to spare out here in Northern Virginia).
Anywho - i went to the website for Udvar-Hazy - saw the info on the IMAX theater there and decided to check out the times for the movie. Then on a whim i decided to visit the Fandango website to see where else it was playing. I was surprised it was going to be showing in our little theater in town called The Tally Ho . When we first moved here 10 years ago we saw a number of movies at this little theater, then it closed. It reopened it 2002 much to our delight. It's tiny but it's practically around the corner. And it only shows 2 movies at a time. In this age of multiplexes showing 20 features at a time its a little bit of yesteryear. Just wonderful. And the really great thing is that the first movie time was 11:30am. Perfect.
So not exactly breakfast with Harry - maybe brunch says it better. We drove downtown (total of 10 minutes - parked in the town lot - its free on Saturday!) - and walked to the theater. We sat down in the Duval Theater (that's for Robert Duval -yes that Robert Duval. He lives not far away in The Plains, VA I believe. We see him often in the newspaper - doing lots of fundraisers and such for the local hospital for example) and the movie began. We loved it. We are HUGE Harry Potter fans - and this one didn't disappoint (only thing i wish is that they could be even longer! I believe this book was the longest so i wished they could've included all the details. The first half hour was a compression of about 200 pages in the book!) All in all we were quite happy. If you plan on seeing it you won't be disappointed.
A few more ATC's i made for a few friends using my Purple Onion Designs stamps:

cos its been a few days

i've been enjoying my quiet whilst the family is doing beach. And i've been accomplishing a few things... mostly Suzy things. But a few other things as well. I can't show them yet but i will soon. Let's say i'm having a good old time making ATC's (artist trading cards - similar to the ones i've posted previously except these ones aren't heritage.) Anyway it's been very quiet. I did have my Mom over for a few hours on Sunday but other than that its been quiet. No one around to distract me - well except my cats. My one cat, Frankie is our krazy kittie. He will show up at breakfast time and hover closeby hoping to get to lick my cereal bowl. Then he'll go off for a few hours and I won't see him until he's decided it's time for a snack. He loves Pounce. Then he's off again sometimes not even bothering to come around at dinnertime. He knows Holly will make sure dinner is waiting for him. How does she do this you ask? Well she'll go to the pantry door and meow. If i'm not in the kitchen area she will find me and meow. Obviously she doesn't wear a watch but her time keeping skills are impeccable. She knows when its dinner time. If standing and meowing by the pantry door fails - she then goes to her food dish and meows then takes a bite - as if to say - hey this bowl is almost empty - time to fill it up! If that doesn't work she'll return to the pantry. And wait. If i'm really preoccupied (ususally i'm making food for everyone else about that time) Holly will become a total pest doing a combination of all the above. The meowing gets a yelling quality to it. She is quite a character. Isn't she adorable? She is, as Eloise would say, my mostly companion. And I just love her to pieces.
Oh - while everyone was gone I rented myself a movie - Vera Drake. (yes Barbara i got it) It is an amazing movie - and if you visit the website and listen to the interview with the director you find out that there was no script for the movie - they make it up as they go along - which makes it even more incredible. Yes it is political but it is extremely thought provoking and worth watching - although not for children. ok... i'm off to run some errands. Everyone is coming back today.

It's late and i should be in bed

but when did that ever stop me.
I thought I'd just drop in here and say i appreciate all the kind comments. I feel pretty good about posting my drawings now. Way back when, I started this blog just for that purpose. I have gotten braver along the way by posting other things i make but the drawings have taken a while to be posted. Perhaps cos the drawing is so close to my heart.
Anyway - i appreciate your encouragement.
Onward - we just watched a little movie - Miss Potter. About the life of Beatrix Potter. The movie started out a little flakey. I thought - are they going to make her seem like a total crazy woman? If you rent it you'll see what I mean. But after the first 10 minutes or so into the movie, it settled in nicely telling her story. She was pretty amazing for a woman of her day. Very ahead of her time. And she was quite an artist. It's a sweet movie and i would venture most people don't know a lot about her life. If you're at all inclined, rent it. It's very enjoyable - for the scenery alone. Ah - i dream of living in such a place. Absolutely gorgeous countryside to be seen in that movie. I hope to go there one day to see it for myself.

still making birthday cards

another one which is presently on its way to its destination. i hope she likes it.
same scallop & oval punches.
this time wee cupcake drawn on vellum, colored with prismacolors.
Let's see - anything else for today?
Ah yes.
We watched a very good movie (video on demand - very handy that) on Saturday nite which I forgot to mention.
The Good Shepherd with Matt Damon. I don't remember much hype for it when it first came out. After we watched the movie we thought - what a shame.
Wonderful movie. Although it was long, it really had us going from the very beginning.
Oh and a frivolous little mini-series that I'm thoroughly enjoying thus far : The Starter Wife on USA. Originally hadn't planned on watching and decided why not see what its like. I loved it! The premiere was 2 hours. I believe there are 4 more 1 hour episodes to be shown. If you didnt get to see it - i believe they're reshowing the premiere on Thursday maybe 5-7pm (check your local listings :-)) and then the next installment is on Thursday nite at 9pm. It's just fun mostly (here and there a little sad but mostly fun and entertaining). Oh - if your connection allows it - you can always watch episodes online.
i have some more cards i've made but i'm saving them for tomorrow :-) I need to do some other things so i'm outta here.

7 things about me

well my friend Linda tagged me so i'm going to give this a go and tell you 7 things about me (maybe you know these, maybe you don't)
  1. I love old movies - i love most any movies (even the trashy ones on Lifetime) and have all kinds of movie trivia in my head - just ask me LOL
  2. i love to cook - i really love to bake but i try not to do it too much because of i really like to eat!
  3. i have been on some kind of diet most of my life
  4. i love television. i know some people don't like it but i do. some people even say "oh i never watch tv" and well i've stopped apologizing for myself a long time ago. i watch all kinds of programs - i've got a wide area of interest - from animal planet to the history channel to the food network. all kinds of tv. because i'm interested in just about everything.
  5. i have zero knowledge about digital anything - i'm a photoshop idiot. As much as I'd like to understand it, I don't. I am sure if someone sat me down and showed me, I'd be a quick learner but I don't get it. It's strange because usually I'm rather good at figuring most things out - but that stuff - i just don't know why but it thoroughly eludes me.
  6. I love to read. I really love to read books but i'll read just about anything including the back and sides of a cereal box. I read the Washington Post everyday. I miss the newspapers I grew up with and read daily: The New York Times, The Daily Post, The Star Ledger and the Daily Record. The books I read are mostly for entertainment meaning although I've read a few of Oprah's Book Club type books - I really don't wanna think that much LOL! I want to be entertained and transported away. Rarely the transport takes me to unhappy places if you catch my drift. So the books i'm reading are generally fun although I like a good crime novel as well.
  7. i really hate laundry.

So now who can I pick on, I mean tag, to let us know more about them.... I tag Donna, Barbara, Tina and Michelle.

Oh and speaking of movies - if you can please rent Pan's Labyrinth. We watched it Saturday night. It was amazing. A fabulous movie. Violent in parts - definitely not for children - its Rated R. but it is such a wonderful movie - you must see it. Here's a website to give you some info - just the website alone should make you run to your Blockbuster and get it

various and sundry

things
thats what i've been doing
stuff.
rest assured i'm still here
i did make a card for my sister for her sage advice last week
frankie the cat was about to be renamed
"mr. sneeze-a-lot"
i was beginning to worry as he didn't seem quite himself (on a regular day his alias is "krazy kitty" cos he's zooming around here making a regular silly pest of himself)
so i called my sister (you would if your sister was a vet, right?)
and after discussing mr. sneeze-a-lot's symptoms she reassured me he'd be fine
so i sent her this silly little card from frankie
I used alphas from www.purpleoniondesigns.com as well as dot stamp from Hero Arts and this cute Cuttlebug die (I ran it through my zipemate.. with a little effort it worked!)
Over the weekend we rented the movie "Notes on a Scandal"
now that was a pretty amazing movie. Dark - yes. Not cheery subject matter but the story was tightly written and no filler - i hate it when there seems to be superfluous stuff in a movie - you know that added fluff that just makes it longer? well none of that here. REally wonderful performances in that movie - we were riveted from the very moment it started to the last second of the movie.

peek at the birdie

here's a little peek at a card i did for a friend who has been very busy and hasn't come out to play much. i thought she needed something cute to pick up her spirits. i'll post the whole card after she's received it. That's one of the little birdie stamps i carved not long ago. i thought he looked kinda cute on the patterned paper with a little colored pencil mcpt'd. And the alpha stamps are Purple Onion Designs - Submarine.
Last nite we rented the movie Stranger Than Fiction with Will Ferrell and Emma Thompson. I love Emma Thompson but that movie - i just had a tough time staying awake. It was entertaining but - well there was a beginning, middle and end but no excitement. nothing to distinguish one moment from the next.. monotone. I cannot describe adequately what was wrong with it other than to say I think it would have been a better book. Interesting premise but thats it.
ok i'm off - things to do. Clean up the mess i made attempting to do some St. Patrick's Day cards. i did not like what i came up with. i may or may not post in the near future.

Friday Fluff

its that alliteration thing again

- plus this is a bit of fluff - literally and figuratively.

Holly is a bit of a fluffy thing wouldn't you agree? I'm sure all cats seek out the laundry basket but this cat will seek out anything that is mine - if it is my clothes in the basket, she is sure to find her way into said basket. If i leave a pair of my socks on the floor, she will sit on them. She loves me and I, her. And how could you resist this cuteness, I ask you?

Since i'm on the subject of cats, I thought i'd post this card i made for my nephew and his girlfriend who visited recently. They have 2 kids of their own - furry kids i should say. And Frankie and Holly took to the girlfriend right away. So she is a keeper we think. I know they'll appreciate the card. Thats a Cats Life Press stamp.

Oh i forgot to mention we rented The Departed last weekend. Rent it. It is just the best movie I've seen in ages. Yes, it's violent and they swear a lot - but both make sense in the plot line and OH what a story. Just the best story. Keeps you glued to your seat for the entire what - 150 minutes. Normally, that long a movie would be rough for me to sit through - but i swear it was over before i knew it.
This weekend the son is returning to school. The week really flew. I'm gonna miss that funny kid a whole lot.
