HOW I DID IT:
-removed hardware and cleaned with a degreaser
-sanded to raw wood with a 120 then 220 grit and my @festool_usa sander! 
-applied a tan paint wash followed by the stain “antique oak” by @generalfinishes 
-topcoated it, hated it so went in with “van dyke brown” glaze by @generalfinishes to even out the color. (It worked!) topcoat again with @minwaxusa polycrylic
-painted the top black to hide the massive damage
- spray painted and rubbed gliding wax on original hardware to get the perfect antique look

💧Begin with cleaning your furniture thoroughly with TSP, soap, or Simple Green. Any degreaser is effective.
💧Second, employ a 150 to 180 grit sandpaper to scuff your furniture, ensuring optimal adhesion.
💧Third, fill in gouges, scratches, and holes with a wood filler, we normally use Bondo 
💧Time to prime your furniture. Clear shellac is our go-to choice. Sand between coats using a 220 grit or higher.
💧Strain your paint using a paint strainer to achieve a smooth consistency and remove all lumps.
