Please note that this craft ONLY works with flameless LED candles. Begin with a dried watercolor painting. Cut out a rectangle according to the dimensions shown above (12.5x7 cm). Leave some room for hot glue. Next, brush the inner rectangle with vegetable oil to make the paper translucent. Let dry. Use a hot glue gun to attach an LED tea light to the bottom part of the lantern. Roll up and glue the edges together. Use Mod Podge to adhere tiny leaves to the outside of the lantern. Let dry. Use a hole punch and string to suspend the lantern from a wooden dowel.

How CUTE are the little lantern children against the watercolor background of this classic round Waldorf lantern? I am obsessed!! 🤩 What do you think?????

I love using a hand knitted rope to string up this sort of lantern and ONLY use LED candles when taking this lantern on a walk.

If you want to make the base of the lantern more stable, you can glue on an additional cardboard circle.
