My partner (Jenna Belevender) and I (Michelle Gerard) are commercial and editorial photographers with a strong emphasis on food and storytelling, based in Detroit, Michigan. We moved into our new live/work space on the day that Michigan announced it’s first COVID-19 cases. As of that day, all of our photoshoots were canceled indefinitely.

For this seasonal studio shoot for Seagram’s Gin, we captured a varied assortment of unique images for social media, focusing on game night, hot drinks and summertime cocktail enjoyment. We began by utilizing a lengthened surface that would afford for a styled tabletop scene to evoke a specific location. By selecting interesting surfaces and props, we were able to deliver the look of everything from a pool table to an actual pool, all in studio.
