Serenity

Hi everyone!  Here is a quick card that I made with the new The Waves on the Sea set from Our Daily Bread designs.  It is made much like the one I shared a couple of weeks ago.  I painted a panel of white card stock with blue paint in a white wash fashion.  I stamped the image and sentiment and then cut it into three panels to pop up on the card base!  So easy and great for those men in your life!

Here is the stamp set with link that I used:

Also, ODBD is retiring some sets and they are on sale!  Check it out!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful evening!

Mix-Ability Challenge 15

Hey y'all!  I have two cards to share that I made for the Mix-Ability Challenge on SCS!  This first one is made with a scrap of old SU! paper that is adhered to card stock with Mod Podge.  I cut out the Spellbinders Dress Forms and Mod-Podged them into place over the  background.  I added a little paint, and sponged ink and did a little doodling too.  The banner is cut from the ODBD/Spellbinders Cathedral Window and Borders Die and the sentiment is from the ODBD set called Little Girls. I finished the card with black rhinestones!

Here is my second card:

For this one I tore strips of designer papers and mod-podged them down to card stock.  I globbed some brown paint here and there.  Then I used a die cut from the ODBD/Spellbinders Cathedral Windows and Borders to create a mask.  I held the mask down and dabbed white paint with my finger.  Then I mod-podged an unused Cheery Lynn Flourish and an unused Spellbinders Itty Bitty Blossom.  I stamped the ODBD Fishing Net Background here and there too.  Next I stamped the fishing boat and the sentiment from the set called The Waves on the Sea, cut them out and mod-podged them down too!  A few more little globs of paint finished it off!

Here are the ODBD supplies I used for these projects:

Fishers of Men

Good morning!

I have a card to share that I made using the new ODBD set called The Waves on the Sea!  I wanted the card to have a CAS nautical feel.  I sort of dry brushed a piece of card stock with blue acrylic paint and after it dried I stamped the image.  I cut down the panel to a rectangle and rounded the corners. I also painted a chipboard embellishment with white and blue paints.  The button I used was VERY gold, so to tone it down I painted it white and rubbed off some of the paint with my fingers.  To give the card just a little extra, I embossed the border from the ODBD/Spellbinders Antique Labels and Border dies

I am entering this card into three challenges:

CT0413-Hope Floats (SCS Fan Club Challenge)

Prayer and Supplication

Good morning!  Hope you are having a blessed week!
Here it is, Wednesday again, the middle of June already and I am half way through my time as guest designer for Word Art Wednesday.  Which brings me to the second page of my little book!  If you would like to see the last week's page, here is the link.

The Word Art Wednesday word art this week is this:

I used all the same supplies, with the addition of Spellbinders dies and Glossy Accents for the black frame.  The stamps I used are Our Daily Bread designs

I just can hardly wait to show the completed book to y'all, but I don't want the month to end either!  Can't have it both ways, LOL!!!  Enjoy the blessings of the day!  See you again soon!

It Is Well With My Soul

Good morning!  Hope you all have had a wonderful week!

Got a little sneak peek of a new stamp coming out Feb 1st from Our Daily Bread designs!
Sheet music to the beautiful old hymn, It Is Well With My Soul!

I wanted to try the Belleek technique that I enjoyed so much earlier this week!  I inked up my Cuttlebug Textile Texture folder with pink ink and then sponged off a little of it to help make it more muted.  Once I ran it through my bug, it was still a little too pink.  So, I went about trying to tone down the piece by painting it with white acrylic paint using a very light touch.  Then I also painted it with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist.  And then I even sprayed it with Pearl Glimmer Mist!  I finally had the shade and look I was going for.

So then I did the same applications to each die cut.  I've used the Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish, Spellbinders Squares, Fleur de Lis Squares, Blossoms Tags and Accents and the angel wings are from an old Spellbinders ATC die set.  The heart is made of wood and is also painted.  I stamped the music on the back ground of the card, stamping if off first on scrap paper and then also did the same painting technique to this piece.  You should have seen my hands!  After it had all dried, I put everything together, and added the little silver bow and tiny pearls.

Here is a little tip:  I got a little too much paint on the sentiment tag, which covered up the song title too much.  So I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp it again which helped a lot!  What a wonderful tool!!!

I am sharing this card in the following challenges:

Thank you so much for looking and I hope you have a beautiful weekend!

Scripture Series 2 Release Day!!!

Good morning y'all!   Our Daily Bread Designs is having a special middle-of-the-month stamp set release! If you remember, back in March, Kelley was looking for favorite scriptures for a new ODBD set. She had a Customer Favorite's Contest, and now it's time to reveal the winners and the new, beautiful sets called Scripture Series 2 and Scrolly Borders. Each winner made cards using their chosen scripture stamp!  How cool is that?!  To see all of the winner's cards and get all the details, please see Kelley's post HERE.

The design team has also created some beautiful cards and layouts using this new set.
Here is a list with links to all the ODBD designers who are playing along today!

Now, be sure to leave a comment because there are THREE $20.00 Gift Certificate prizes hidden along the way! Winners will be announced Wednesday, August 17, on the ODBD blog so be sure to check back!

I decided to make a little book using all six of the scriptures from the new set!  I tried to be organized while creating this but here is a little hint for you!  DO NOT bind the book pages until AFTER you have finished stamping the pages!  I thought I was doing right by binding first but that gave me limited freedom of stamping more of the Scrolly Borders!  I intended to use those more!  I did manage to get one on the first page but I had to hide where some of the stamp didn't show with a flower!  LOL!!  After gluing the designer paper to the chipboard pages, I painted the backs and around the front edges with acrylic paint and then I used my Bind-it-All to bind the pages before decorating. I also dirtied the pages up with distress ink.
Then it was just a matter of adding snips of this and bits of that to complete the little book!!!

 Here are the supplies:

Chipboard from packaging
Spellbinders Grand Calibur
Bind-It-All

ODBD Elegant Ovals, Labels 4, Labels 7, Labels 18
Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry Doily Die

K&Co Designer Paper
Memento Black ink and Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink
Vintage White Acrylic Paint
Prima Flowers
Buttons
Rhinestones and Rhinestone Swirls
Snips of ribbon, lace, seam binding
Netting bits
And last but not least, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist
We thank you for joining us today!!!
We are so excited about these new sets and know you will love them too!!!

Times of Refreshing....

Hi there!  Back again with another project!
Recently, while visiting Pinterest, I found a photo of some fans that were made for wedding favors.  The original idea was from Martha Stewart and I knew I had to try this out for myself!

I found the wooden handles at Hobby Lobby.  They were not too expensive, I think they were $2.99 for a bag of 24.  (I think I have a lot of fans to make! LOL).  First, I sanded the handle to smooth out any splinters and then I painted it with FolkArt Vintage White acrylic paint.  While waiting for that to dry, I gathered two matching sheets of Memory Box Spearmint designer paper and the cardboard backing.  I used Aleen's spray adhesive, following the directions on the can to use in a well ventilated area, and adhered the paper to both sides of the cardboard.  I cut this down just a little so no uneven edges would show.  I used a corner rounder punch on each corner and then used the same acrylic paint on the edges, both front and back.

Next, I stamped the image from the Porch set.  I cut the sentiment with a Spellbinders circle, a Spellbinders Scallop circle, and a Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry Doily, all in one cut using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur.  I did run the circle and scallop circle back through to emboss the edges.  I used Beacon 3-in-1 glue to adhere the handle, and then I was ready to 'build' my fan.

I added several rows of lace, vintage ric-rac, delicate ribbon and the white bead trim.  Then I added my sentiment doily and scripture circles.  The SU! flowers came next and then the pearls.  I tied some lace and ribbon on the handle and then glued the lace bow that I made with my Bow Easy onto the handle along with the white button.  The last touch was just a few spritzes of Glimmer Mist!

Here is how the fan looks from the back.

I am entering this for the DT call at Cheery Lynn Designs!  Wish me luck!

Thank you again for visiting with me today!  I always love spending a few moments with you!
Have a wonderful day!

Refreshing....

Hi y'all!  Here is a card I made for the "Say What?" challenge last Friday on SCS!!  This is another card where I did some 'doodling' by piecing together papers and leftovers from other projects.  Yes, I save too many scraps of things and the stuff has piled up.  So I gotta do lots of doodling!!  LOL!!  The focal point of my card is this beautiful scripture from one of the new Our Daily Bread designs sets this month called Porch.  One thing I did on this card that I have probably only done one other time, is paint the edges of the designer paper with acrylic paint.  Also behind the seam binding bow is lace that I stitched along the edge and pulled to make the circle.

Here are the supplies I used:

Neenah White and Cream card stock
Webster's Pages designer paper
Lace and seam binding and Bow Easy
Stazon Black ink
Vintage White Folk Art acrylic paint
Martha Stewart butterflies

Thank you for popping in tonight!  It's almost the weekend!!!!

Here are the details of my card above:
I cannot tell you how excited I am that Spellbinders has partnered with ODBD!  This die is perfect for so many stamps but this first coordinating set called Eternity, which was designed specifically for this die, is so wonderful!  With the help of my Stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped the label, sentiment and scroll design in Stazon Brown ink, and then used my Spellbinders Grand Calibur machine to cut it out.  I went around the edge of the label with Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink.  The base card is Neenah Cream and the background designer paper is by K&Company.  The center portion is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder from the Preserves collection and these two pieces are also inked up with the Antique Linen ink pad.  I added the EKSuccess punched lace border and finished the card with SU! seam binding and SU! Hat Pin from the Pretties Kit, pretty blue Zva pearl swirls and a Prima flower!  The seam binding was also inked up with the Antique Linen ink just to mute the color down a little for a more vintage look!  I have one more project to share!

I used the little scroll from the Eternity set on the egg and then made the tag with the
Daffodil Tag Set and matching die!
The egg is a candy holder I have saved for over 25 years!!!  I painted it with acrylic paint and then sprayed it with Suede Glimmer Mist.  I stamped the scroll onto the egg with Stazon Brown ink and then used Beacon 3-in-1 glue to attach the lace, velvet ribbon and buttons.  For the tag, I colored the daffodils with copic markers in muted colors and sprayed it with Suede Glimmer Mist.  I made a huge Bow Easy bow with SU! seam binding, also sprayed with Suede Glimmer Mist and glued it down to the tag and then the egg.  I sort of curled the tag down to better show the design.  This was a fun project as I love altering things!  I love paint and glimmer and embellishments!!!

I do want to remind you that March 17th is Our Daily Bread design’s Third Anniversary! We have MANY fun activities lined up, and ALL our teams will be participating! Be Inspired Wednesday #87

Good Wednesday Morning!

The Design Team for the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog has been having fun with paint this week!  For my project today, I covered an artist's canvas with a piece of burlap and stapled it to the back.  Then I painted it with brown acrylic paint almost to the edges.  I have had this stencil for about 25 years!  I decided it was time to drag it out and use it again!  I dabbed vanilla paint with a sponge to get the pretty cat and border at the top.  Then, I sponged more paint along the edges and sides.  I adhered the pretty three layer Provocraft Cuttlebug Butterfly (37-1651) adorned with a few brown pearls
with Beacon 3-in-1 Glue to complete the canvas!

This also fits the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge this week.

This was such a fun project!
We hope you will join the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog
in our paint challenge this week!
