Princess Victoria of Hesse and by Rhine, then Princess Louis of Battenberg, later Victoria Mountbatten, Marchioness of Milford Haven (5 April 1863 – 24 September 1950) was the eldest daughter of Louis IV, Grand Duke of Hesse and Princess Alice of the United Kingdom. She was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Through her eldest daughter, she was the grandmother of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, grandmother-in-law of Queen Elizabeth II and great-grandmother of King Charles III.[1]

In 1884, she married Prince Louis of Battenberg. They had four children together named Louis, Alice, Louise, and George. Victoria died on 24 September 1950 age 87. She was buried on 28 September 1950 with her husband Prince Louis of Battenberg at St Mildred Church Whippingham on the Isle of Wight.[2]
