Patrice Bergeron-Cleary (born July 24, 1985) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He played nineteen seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played his entire NHL career with the Boston Bruins. He also played for HC Lugano of the National League A (NLA).
Career
[change | change source]Before playing in the NHL, Bergeron played two seasons for the Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He was drafted by the Boston Bruins with the 45th overall pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
He won a gold medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics, 2010 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships and in the 2005 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. He won the Stanley Cup with the Bruins on June 15, 2011 when the Bruins defeated the Vancouver Canucks in game 7 by a score of 4-0.
On July 25, 2023, Bergeron would announce his retirement from playing professional ice hockey.[1]
