Ghaziabad is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a part of the National Capital Region (NCR) and lies on the border of India's capital city New Delhi. According to the 2011 census, the city had 1,636,068 people living in it making it the 21st most populous city in India. Ghaziabad is a planned and industrial city. Ghaziabad was ranked as the second fastest growing city in the world by a City Mayors Foundation survey.
