Achim is a town in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is 16 km southeast of Bremen. The population in 2020 was about 32,000. It is on the right side of the Weser river.
History
[change | change source]In the past the town has been part of various Duke's territories. The town was a location of Saxon courts in the 11th century. Danes, Swedes and French have controlled the region. In the 19th century, the town became part of the Kingdom of Hanover.
