Planning Ahead or Not?

I love to plan my quilting projects ahead of time.

We aren't GOing to talk about how cold it is today all over the USA (even though I've had to GO outside two times already to change the outside feral cats water bucket from ice to water).   We are expecting a high of 32 today and the wind is blowing.....so feels like 10.  Yikes!  That's really cold for South Texas. Our local weatherman said we can expect some snow late Thursday.  Whoa!  Nellie!  Wait a minute.  Snow in San Antonio, Tx?  That's what they are saying, so I might be talking about snow in a couple more days, instead of using my GO cutter.

Now, where was I?  Ok...yes, now I remember......we are talking about planning ahead.

Have I told you  I love my GO cutter??  If you don't know the answer to that question then you haven't been reading my blog for the last 6 months, have you?  Nothing's more fun than cutting with it, (well maybe eating some chocolate) so that's what I did yesterday.  (I cut... and ate some chocolate.)

Don't you just love the combo of chocolate brown & bright pinks?  mmmmh! looks like Valentine Candy.

Thanks to the 2 1/2" strip die, I can cut many, many small squares too!

Yup!  I'm gonna need a bunch of these.

The ideas are just dancing around in my head  how I'm GOing to be using these small squares, and I'm planning ahead for when I get some extra sewing time.

Drats!  I promised myself I'd finish a UFO every month and February is here.  Ok, I'll put the "chocolate & pink" squares away for now.

Am I really planning ahead or did I just want to use my GO??   I'll never tell.

Thanks for visiting.

Jeez! Will It Ever Be Finished??

I hope those of you who don't have to work today on this day honoring Martin Luther King, are enjoying yourselves and doing something fun!

Gosh, I've been working on and off on this raggy quilt for a week now, and it's still not finished.   Clipping the edges of the seams to make a soft and fluffy raggy quilt takes a long time for me.  Due to a bad hand/wrist/arm I can only clip about one row, two at the most in one sitting.  Then I have to wait a day until I can do it again.

All the rows are sewn together now  and I have 3 rows of it clipped and the outside edges.  I double sew all of my seams on my raggy quilts, and I  used a decorative wavy stitch on the "X" of the squares for this one.  It takes a little longer to make it, but I really like the effect.

AND........I love the feel of the minky!   Where was this minky stuff when I was a little kid and sucked my thumb while dragging around my special blankie??

I might have to wait a couple more days to clip again..........Sigh!!!    I WANT IT FINISHED so I can put it in my ETSY store.

What about you?  Are there projects you are working on ....then you have to put them aside for some reason or other???

Thanks for visiting.

ON A ROLL! Jelly Roll that is.

I'm cutting, cutting, cutting with my GO cutter and on a roll ..............

Here's a few things I've been working on.

Yup!  Those are blocks cut with the Drunkard's Path new die for my GO cutter......curved piecing and all.   There's so many different layouts you can do with the Drunkard's Path pattern, and I love them all.  I've made several DP quilts in the past using the traditional way, but this is so much faster and easier.

I just love the Drunkard's Path die and am so glad to have the GO cutter to save me time & making these the easy way.

I'm just teasing you with these two pictures and don't have the quilt finished yet.  Don't ya just love it when bloggers do this and don't show you the finish??  I will.........I will..........I promise.

Some of my other cutting with my GO cutter for my ETSY store......

Here's the link for these Bubble Gum Jelly Rolls..just click HERE.

and the link for the Blueberry Blues  jelly roll too!

I've got other colors cut and ready to list, but then I hit a snag.  My camera recently broke and I haven't bought a new one yet.  I'm using a borrowed one right now and the software/editing/storing for the pictures is totally different than mine.  It's taking me longer to learn about it and get my new pictures finished for my new listings......yikes!

Yes, I'm on a roll.......just gotta get it rolling faster.   Good excuse, don't you agree??

Thanks for stopping by.
