Missoni...Biased Cut Maxi
The title says it all.....what do you think?? The pictures didn't do great justice to this fabric, they were taken with a camera phone. The fabric was from fabric land remnant bin, for $1:50 a meter and was lucky to get just enough for this style . Have a pleasant weekend y'all

Burda 7486 + Simplicity 2255
Another recent outfit, made the pants from Burda 7486 and the top from S2255 view C, I have made this pattern earlier here, so won't be reviewing the top.
For the pants I did the following....
Fabric: A soft twill for the pants and 100% cotton voile for the top
Pattern Description: Loose fitting tunics in two lengths. Fitted pants in two lengths.
Pattern Sizing: Size 8-16, I cut size 16 with modification
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?: Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow: I didn't use the instructions, I sewed it my own way
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I made couple; here they are
(1)I lengthend the hem by 3", I still had to reduce the hem to 0.5"
(2) I shorthened the front crotch by 1.5" way too big in the front
(3)I made about 1" swayback adjustment
(4)I reduced the leg width by 1" (tapped from knee to hem)
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Love everything,
Would you recommend it to others? Absolutely, it's a wardrobe staple.....

Welcome on board + Mccall's 6074
Please join me in welcoming a new local blogger Christiana http://sewamusing.blogspot.com/ ... My kids call all my blogger friends my imaginary friends, so I told them Christiana is not imaginary I have met her physically....lol . We are both members of a local sewing meet-up and she is so passionate about sewing and loves VOGUE patterns........yes VOGUE patterns. I have only made 2 or 3 ever....
Nothing actually to this pattern except that:
(1) I didn't gather the front (2)Lengthened view A by 4"
(3) Made an interfaced neck facing .
(4)French seamed the entire dress.........
Were the instructions easy to follow: I didn't use the instruction at all just did my thing
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Nothing to dislike less than 3 hours project..... yeah, my kind of thing....lol
Would you recommend it to others? Nice mojo booster, and great addition to a wardrobe......
Viola... A lovely dress in a beautiful colour. I guess the mojo is finding its way back gradually....lol....................
Have a great weekend everyone....
Enjoy!!!

Colorphobia
I used to be so much afraid of colors before I started sewing and blogging,.... my wardrobe used to be all black, brown, navy blue and in short mostly not so colourful solid fabrics, but since I started sewing and blogging...boy I have been seeing lovely fabrics both in print and solid beautiful colors that my fellow bloggers sew, and that has really helped me to step out a little bit....ah ah..... But now sistahs/broders, I am stepping even further out of my comfort zone, I want to be liberated....ahahahah lol.... I want to try colors, lovely prints, beautiful solids and do something I wouldn't have done ordinarily....................
So, dear bloggers seat back and see Aminat in action....lol although there might still be some solids but in vibrant colors, I might still do some of my old self...You all know it’s not easy to change, it’s a work in progress, but I will try as much as possible to include at least one vibrant colour in my projects......
Beautiful colors are not only beautiful, they are very liberating, they change your mood positively, you feel alive in them and most importantly they are great mojo boosters... So dear friends, are you color phobia, trying to be liberated just like me, or already a pro?... Please, I would like to know I am not alone in this.... Let’s get going friends..............
Enjoy the rest of the week you all and let me know what you feel...............
